G.M.H. Contracting & Management Reviews (1)

Review: G.M.H. Contracting & Management, License Number: [redacted] have acted in an unprofessional and negligent manner and have been a dreadful to deal with from the inception of the construction process. To begin, on 12/**/2012, the company knowingly filed the wrong type of application with the NYC Department of Buildings. The property on [redacted] in Staten Island was built prior to 1939 and did not require a Certificate of Occupancy. In this case, G.M.H. Contracting & Management knowingly filed for an ALT 1 and a Certificate of Occupancy explicitly for the purposes of extracting more money from the project. They were later denied an ALT 2 permit, as the ALT 1 had already been filed and issued. The original ALT 1 work permit/application was approved on 4/**/2013 and they never completed the Certificate of Occupancy. Moreover, [redacted] and his team continued acting in bad faith and a neglectful manner; they worked poorly and sluggishly, delaying the project. After a few months on the job, they came back with a change order for an issue that was not hidden. Rather, it was clearly visible at the time of their inspection and estimate. Unfortunately with this contractor, when it rains, it pours. - After finishing only a minimal part of the project, G.M.H. Contracting & Management walked off the Job without completing it. They left many holes in the walls/ceilings and multiple unfinished rooms throughout the house. This caused leaks and further damage to occur on the premises. For close to a year now, they have been unreachable and have not returned any of my calls or emails.Desired Settlement: To remedy the situation, we request that the company complete the Certificate of Occupancy for [redacted] which is now required due to their error in filing. Furthermore, we request that a refund be issued for the project from [redacted] and G.M.H. Contracting & Management for uncompleted and poorly finished work and that has caused undue financial hardship.
