Review: On March 14, 2014, we purchased through [redacted] a "Big Deal" off of [redacted] for "$99 for 4 Hours of Masonry Repair" from G.O. Contractors Group, LTD (G.O. Contractors). Prior to purchasing, we contacted the company to confirm via email dated March 14, 2014 that they performed walkway repairs (path between driveway and house and house and garage) in addition to brick work (filling in loose mortar in brick steps). Prior to commencing the work, Nestor G[redacted] visited the property to look at the work to be completed and confirmed that it would fall under the "Big Deal," but that we would owe $25 for materials. On April 17, 2014, G.O. Contractors performed the "repairs," which included the following: securing bricks in the front steps, filling in cracks in the walkways between the house and driveway and house and garage, and repairing some areas where the walkway was beginning to slightly erode. We questioned the color of the concrete used to repair the walkways at the time the work was completed and were assured by the workers that it would match when dry, they used plain gray concrete and the existing concrete was brown with decorative sea shells. We paid the $25 for materials via check on April 17th. We contacted Mr. G[redacted] on Aprill 19, 2014 with our concerns regarding the lack of matching. Mr. G[redacted] visited the property on April 22, 2014 and agreed via email dated April 23, 2014 to "replace the mortar because I don't like that color." Mr. G[redacted] was informed via email on May 2, 2014 that much of the brick work performed had washed out in the rain. In an email dated May 5, 2014, Mr. G[redacted] agreed to start trying to match the color the next day, however, G.O. Contractors did not actually return to the property until May 27, 2014. When they returned on May 27th, they sort of painted over several of the gray areas with a couple of different colors (not sure if concrete or something else) that don't match the existing brown color and also do not include the sea shell composition that is required to match the existing texture. They made no additional repairs to the brickwork. As a result of G.O. Contractors' work, our walkways are a complete eyesore, as the existing concrete was brown with a sea shell composition and G.O. Contractors repaired large areas with plain gray concrete that has now been partially painted 2 other colors. The work they were hired to do was pretty minor. Mr. G[redacted] visited the property ahead of time and knew exactly what work was to be performed and the color of the existing concrete. However, G.O. Contractors' lack of attention to matching the color and texture and sloppy brick work that has washed out has succeeded in damaging both our property and property value.Desired Settlement: The repaired areas of the walkways need to be completed with concrete that matches the color and texture of the existing concrete. In addition, the brick work should be redone more carefully so as not to wash out.
