Go Green RVC, Inc Reviews (1)

Review: I left 2 articles to be cleaned-one was a Mets sports jacket and the other a soft, butter smooth leather coat. They were both in my basement,on hangers. I brought these items to have them dry-cleaned at Go Green RVC Dry Cleaners. The Mets jacket came back clean, minus any color. The soft, butter leather coat was returned with holes in the arms, the stitching ripped in the arms, holes in the leather, 2 sizes smaller and it is now as stiff as a board. When I complained about the condition of the leather coat in particular, I was told they would sew it up...the tailor was not able to do this, I was told, when I picked it up today.Desired Settlement: At least give me the money I spent for the dry cleaning, which is a small amount compared to the cost of the jackets and coat. Neither item is wearable-one without color and the other totally ruined. Both will have to be replaced. [redacted] was not helpful and I do believe they never should have attempted to clean these items if they had no experience with such items.

Response:

Dear [redacted],

In response to complaint #[redacted], on 9/**/13 [redacted] brought two garments into Go Green RVC for dry cleaning. [redacted] was a first time customer. She told us that both garments were “severely damaged” in Supper Storm Sandy and were soaking in storm water in the basement for almost a year with no attempt to clean them. Both garments were still wet when they were dropped off with us.

Garment #1 – A Mets jacket. It is grey with fake black leather sleeves. The fake leather was so damaged that it came off in my hands before we even dry cleaned it.

Garment #2 – A black leather jacket that was very damaged. It was not “Butter Smooth”, it was a mess. It was stiff, smelled and discolored.

We told the customer that it was a long shot for success but we would try to recover them if she wanted. [redacted] told us that both garments have “sentimental value”. She had given them as gifts to her son- in- law and asked if there was “anything we could do”. We had cleaned multiple Sandy storm damaged garments with great success. We told here we would try to recover the jackets but there were no guarantees.

Mets Jacket – After cleaning all of the dye came off the sleeves as expected. The sleeves matched the rest of the coat and you can ware it. It looked good.

The Leather Jacket – Due to soaking in storm water for “several months” the leather could not be recovered. It came apart at all of the seams during the cleaning process. Our tailor felt the garment was too damaged by the storm water to be recovered of fixed.

We feel that [redacted] had a very strong attachment to the two coats and is holding Go Green responsible for her lack of proper care. We worked very hard during the pre-cleaning stage and tried our best to recover the garments. Unlike the multiple leather garments we successfully cleaned after Super Storm Sandy, these coats were left in a toxic environment preventing there recovery.

We feel the Revdex.com will understand that the customer was given proper warning, Go Green RVC has an excellent reputation and [redacted] is being unreasonable with her complaint.

Go Green has a great reputation and we would expect the Revdex.com to recognize that this is a false complaint.

Thank you for your attention,

Go Green RVC

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

As a result of Super Storm Sandy I took my son and his family in to live with me and my husband in RVC until services were restored in Oceanside. We had not damage here in RVC. I had no water in my basement. He incurred many expenses because of the storm and I thought to have two jackets he had stored in my basement, on hangers, dry cleaned, before the weather turned chilly. A women took in the jackets and called [redacted] on the phone to discuss a price adjustment for me. I did not speak to him that day. I never spoke with him until the day I picked up the jackets. At that time I told him I was gifting my son and expressed my displeasure at the outcome of his service. There was no color in the Mets-team jacket and the leather jacket, which was whole and soft when I left it off, was now a hard, stiff and damaged jacket. He said he would send the leather to be repaired, but on my final pick up it was in the same condition. He claimed they could not repair it.The damage to the leather was in no way from the storm, but rather from some cleaning process used by The Green Cleaners.

?

Sincerely,

Consumer
