Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/09) */
Re: *** ***,
After reviewing the file on Mr***,
His vehicle invoice reflects the statement that "the recall part was probably all that was needed", is just that a statement! If this vehicle was taken into the dealership earlier,
before the internal damaged was caused then it "most likely" may have not needed the extensive repairsBut as the documents prove this vehicles transmission was very damaged, due to the extent of damaged that was caused by *** continuing to drive the vehicle after the check engine light came on, and it was diagnosed that there was an internal failureMr*** Didn't tell you that the transmission fluid was very burntToyota has this Engine control module "TSB Harsh shift and M.I.Lon" TSB # TC015-and it does cover parts and labor on the bad ECM, However it doesn't cover the Transmission overhaul kit, front pump, torque Converter, pressure control solenoid, filter, automatic transmission fluid or the Labor to rebuild his transmissionIf Mr*** had taken his car to Toyota originally he would've had to have the transmission replaced as well, But since he took his car after the fact the dealership could only see the rebuilt transmission and not the failed transmission that he showed up here withMr*** has not been very forthwith his informationThe fact is that the ECM was the cause of his transmission failure and did need a ecm replacement as well as an overhaulMr*** Did need a transmission overhaul and ECM replacementMr *** has given AAMCO a bad review on every possible venue but not told the whole truth about his failure to fix the car when the problem FIRST aroseHe also disputed the charges on his credit card company and after review of the facts they found for AAMCO in this matter and not for Mr***I look forward to your rapid response in this matter

Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/04/13) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
AAMCO will use every opportunity to say they did nothing wrongThe issue is the check engine light code that I brought the car in for, and AAMCO never ran or investigated the codeThe TSB says specifically to replace the ECM unit firstIf that does not fix the issue then troubleshooting of the transmission can beginAAMCO made the decision to never research the issue in the beginning, and made a rush judgment on the need for a full transmission overhaulThey would have also been able to tell me while I was standing in the office what code they pulled and the options, including a copy of the TSBThis is information is not hard to find, and AAMCO as a claimed transmission expert should have an easier time finding details on the code and the TSB than someone like me with no car knowledge and no databases to searchI was able to find this information, once I had the code, in less then two minutes
Toyota has told me that a faulty ECM will not damage the transmission for the amount of time that is was drivenThe invoice may say that the ECM was all that was needed, but that wasn't made clear for nine days and AAMCO could not resolve the issues that I brought it in forI will reiterate, I brought the car in for a Check engine light and rough shifting, and I left AAMCO with the Check Engine light on and the car still shifting roughIf the repairs AAMCO performed were all that was needed why were these issues still not resolved? AAMCO has never explained why they did not even do a cursory investigation on the Check Engine lightIf they can make a satisfactory response to that then I may reexamine my claimThe code was not even brought to my attention for nine daysAAMCO can make all the claims they want at this time to try and avoid admitting faultIf they are not willing to make a good faith offer to make this right I will have no option but to pursue a legal remedyAt that time they will need to explain their course of action in a courtroomThey skirt the question of the engine code and why it was not researched correctly time and time again
I reached out to AAMCO and provided them an opportunity to make this right, and I have offered to consider modifying my online reviews which are completely accurateOnline reviews are one of the only ways for a consumer to voice concerns*** *** a manager of this AAMCO, has posted positive Google reviews of his own shop (never telling the reader who he is), so calling my reviews inaccurate is laughable
To add to this, when AAMCO reinstalled my starter, the work was done incorrectlyI had to take my care back to ToyotaAt that time I was told, due to this faulty install, by flexplate incurred damageIn addition to this, the wiring harness was also not put back in place correctlyI am not seeking damages for these, but I will if this goes to court
AAMCO is also making a misleading statement regarding my credit card companyThe company agreed that the work done was probably unnecessary, but I would need to have Toyota make a legal claim on letterhead, etcthat would validate that none of the work needed to be doneToyota did not want to get in the middle of this issueWith that said, if this does go to court I will subpoena Toyota to explain how they would have handled this specific check engine light codeI have spoken to Toyota at length, and they assure me the course of action should have been, to run the codes through the database and research, to replace the ECM unit prior to doing work on the transmission
AAMCO can continue to deny faultIn my opinion, AAMCO committed fraudI have no problems taking this to court and having it resovled there if the Revdex.com is not able to mediate this issue
Thanks

Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2015/04/21) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Thank you for your responseOnce again AAMCO refuses to detail why they did not check the Check Engine code against the databaseThey have been given many opportunities do soThey did not follow the correct procedure outlined by the TSB, and knowing this continue to take the stance that I am in the wrongThrough this process all AAMCO had to do was answer why they didn't utilize a database like AllData to investigate the codeThey didn't do their due diligence at the time which is their obligation to the customerBy continuing to attack me they demonstrate their tactic as business owners and how they view their customers
On the topic of online reviews, if AAMCO had worked with me to resolve the issue I would have been amenable to modifying my reviews and letting readers know that AAMCO is a stand up business and willing to work with customersSince they continue to refuse to make reparations of any kind, I will not modify the reviews whatsoever regardless of any outcomeThe Virginia Supreme Court recently ruled that reviews fall under freedom of speech and cannot be censored
With that said, I will begin court proceedings posthaste

re:*** ***,
As per your wishes *** we will see you in court thenAAMCO truly wishes that things could be resolved howeverWe have no other alternative than to let the courts resolve this matter

Hi ***We have been de***ng with your dispute charge on since the day you picked up your vehicle, we never heard back from you about anything that your vehicle is not working properly beside engine issue. We told your that you need to fix the engine issues soon, everything that we did are
working perfect. Your transmission that we did is under warranty with any AAMCO, but you never give us a chance to fix any problem that you might have with your the transmission. If possible, I suggest that you bring your vehicle back to us, let us diagnose it to see what is the issue. We might able to give you proper recommendation to correct the problem that you might have. Thank you! Lee

I am rejecting this response because: It absolutely unprofessional and discriminatory by claasing me as people who want things for freeYou ignorant business ownerYour company falsified information to get my vehicle there and then told untrue stories of diagnosing my vehicleYou never touched my transmissionIts at a shop now and they are ready to make an affidavit that my transmission was never touchedNo bolts removed, nothingYou should be ashamed of yourself and the business you are runningYour company told me it was free towing and that's what you finally delivered after playing your gamesI will continue to make shame of a company that operates so unethicallly and dishonest like yoursThere's a lot of people in this community that have scammed by your BUSINESSShame on you.

On July 27th *** Dropped of her Jeep Grand Cherokee off to get a transmission DiagnosticWith our diagnosis we found out that she has a hole in her transmission pan, low on fluid, and a snap ring was in the bottom of her transmission panwe determined that there was an internal
transmission failureOn the 29th of July *** was contacted and was told she had internal transmission failure and the labor to remove dismantle and inspect the transmission would cost dollars no money up front which she authorized over the phone with her date of birth at exactly 12:28pm 07/29/We removed the transmission took it apart and inspected found a lot of damaged in her transmission so we gave *** the choice of a rebuild transmission from us which will have a months 12,mile warranty nationwide or she is able to go and purchase a used transmission and we would install it for herwe even went as far as looking for a transmission for her*** dined both of the options we gave her and she refuses to pay the labor she had previously authorizedShe has not paid us any money

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/04/09) */
As regards Ms***'s complaint, we have re-installed her old defective transmission and her old torque converter as per Ms***'s request in her vehicleWe here at AAMCO have polices and procedures that we inform the customers in advance and
document inspections as well as repair authorizationsThe (RDI) fee, aka Remove, Dismantle, and InspectIs explained to ALL customers in advance as the internal damage cannot be determined without this inspectionAll transmissions fail differently and the cost can very greatlySome have the practice of "guessing" or Guesstimating a price or Low balling the consumers to get them in their repair facilityThat is the reason that we have in place procedures to inform the customer of the fees before any repairs or further diagnostics are doneOur customers then give their authorization, the work is performed, completed and the vehicle is returned to the customer after the repairs are paid forMs***'s vehicle has been put back together and returned to her in it's damaged condition, Ms*** has been informed that as the transmission is in disrepair and not recommended to be driven, it WILL cause more damage and may not be reliableShe has signed the document we provided and received a copy
AS far as the employment of Tom and AAMCO transmissions, that is irrelevant nor germane to her her repair or lack thesituation as of nowTom no longer is employed with AAMCO Transmissions DenverAny further questions please feel free to call me @ 303-462-

I will accept that the matter has been resolved as AAMCO has returned my car back to drive-able condition at no additional chargeHowever, I will continue to file my complaint as the business practice and experience was not professional and only provided me with the genuine feel of the attempt of being taken advantage ofAt no point when I brought my vehicle in was I told that my car would not be returned to original condition unless additional fees would be appliedAdditionally that price quoted and the sales pitch received made me feel as if they charged for work that may not be required (or atleast were overpriced) and that they would leave my car in pieces if I did not agree to whatever the price was they had wished to chargeAfter many phone calls and multiple visits to the location LEE agreed to put my car back to the way that it was provided only because "he was tired of arguing"After he had agreed to put it back together I felt as my issue had become last priorityWhile dealing with AAMCO I was without car for approximately weeks with no resolution to my original car problemI do not wish for anything further from AAMCO and will not be returning to this particular place of businessMy request to have the businesses practices to be reviewed is my last request focusing particularly in pricing (charging for only what is needed and "fair" pricing) and training on providing disclosures

Hi *** Sorry to hear that you are not satisfy with Josh's service. First, you haven't paid us (*** *** )one penny, even though we had towed your vehicle to our shop and did a diagnosis for you. As of last Friday February 23, 2018, you have towed your
vehicle out of our shop without paying one penny. We waived the tow bill for you, and right after that. You wrote a different and raciest review on us. We believe that no matter what we do, you will not be satisfied with us. People like you always want something for FREE and if you can't get it, you will bash us with everything you got. Sorry that we can't help you any further than we already have. Good Luck! Lee

I am rejecting this response because: The  response facts are wrong whoever wrote that if they look at the invoice they originally tried to charge me $144.35 so where does that number come from? I have spoken to 3 [redacted] dealerships now and they all say that that is bogus that is an old wives tale and at these [redacted] dealerships only do the complete flush and put all brand-new transmission fluid into the transmission.  After talking to three [redacted] dealerships and another [redacted] transmission shop  I don't know anybody in their right mind that would want to take their car back to this shop and feel comfortable about having them work on their car.  I don't see any reason why they can't refund me my money so that I can take it somewhere else and have the service done that I need.  And if they say they don't do full complete transmission flushes and they are willing to do it now on mine why would I feel comfortable having them do something that they normally don't do on this car ?
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Mr. [redacted]We are more than happy to help you to fix your vehicle, but you need to bring your vehicle to us or any other AAMCO centers to diagnose the problem.  We can't fix your vehicle if you don't bring your vehicle to us, we NEED to diagnose the problem first.  Sorry that we can't refund your money, because we did fix the transmission of your vehicle.  Have a wonderful Holiday! Lee

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I was never once quoted a price for the work even after asking numerous times (4 times). The employees went out of their way to ensure that I was under the impression that the work being done on my vehicle was still under the coverage of the advertised "free inspection". I never approved for any work beyond the free diagnostic work. I never signed any approval, my car was running when we brought it in and now it has been imobalised permanently according to the shop.  This fraudulent business has been deceptive through the entire process. I am proceeding by filing a civil suit for fraud and misrepresentation of services.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Hi [redacted]I believe that there is an confusion here, we did everything that is right for your vehicle.  We don't do complete transmission flush for any vehicle that it has more than 50,000 miles, because it will KILL the transmission if you do the complete flush.  We have been seen so many...

vehicles that came to our shop after the complete transmission flush was done that has damage the transmission.  The normal price for transmission service is $129.95 plus tax, my front desk must miss quoted you on the phone, but we honored what we quoted you.  Also, if other shop said that your transmission fluid is low, we are more that happy to make it right.  We can't just refund you what we have already done for you, but you have to bring your vehicle to us.  Sorry for the inconvenience and we will try everything to make it right for you.  Thanks!

We at [redacted]s are very proud of what we do, we are very honest and fair with all our customers.  We are sorry that you feel the way you feel.  At end of the day, you haven't paid us anything, we waived all charges that you had against the vehicle , and all you have done since your vehicle left is blame, bash and just keep trying to aggravate us.  We did remove the transmission in your vehicle otherwise we wouldn't have been able to tell that you had brought the wrong transmission for us, you can even ask your father who saw the transmission was out when he came and picked up the wrong transmission that you had brought us.  Again, you keep saying something that is completely untrue and just trying to blame us.  We didn't charge you for anything, because we are trying to keep you happy; we even paid your tow bill.  We also referred you to a junk yard place to purchase the correct transmission and even set up everything for you .  We just can't think of anything that we can to ease your feelings toward us.  We are sorry that we can't help you any further than we already have .  Good Luck! Lee

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because: I DON"T HAVE THE CAR ANYMORE. Your shop RUINED my car! You wasted my time and money and you need to give me my money back or I will file a lawsuit. It is that simple.  If you had done your job, why would another shop say that the transmission is having problems and that you've done a bad job? Why would I have ANOTHER estimate for a job you already performed. You need to give my money back because I spent over 5000 dollars to fix the car and it was not drivable after what you did; it had things that were worst on it than before and I could no longer afford to spend money on it based on what your shop did. This is FRAUD and you are acting in a criminal manner; you should be ashamed of yourself for treating people like this!
Sincerely,
[redacted]
