*** *** ***3:AM ** *** Good evening, I have just been afforded an opportunity to get into my email and also just read the response from Huntington. I noted that Kim W*** quoted Un truths, my request was that you cannot charge for services not renderedI never noted that I was on a monthly plan, I inquired about the plan and she told me about the lender was how they secured fundingI did share with her he was retained and also had been given a diagnosis, I did not say it was the fault of HuntingtonAs a school administrator, a county board chairwoman, appointed by the mayor of Cleveland to serve on a selection panel and a social worker, I have credibility also., what Kim did was wrong and inappropriate and needs to be investigatedThere is no way those funds were exhausted and she did state , unused funds will be returned to the lender.*** *** *** *** ** ***

August 10, 2015*** *** ***:I have received the complaint letter from your bureau with the ID assignment of *** Although I am very disappointed that *** *** is going through such lengths to slander the reputation of both Huntington Learning Center and me I have to say that I am not
surprised.*** *** (the student’s grandmother) called me after I had spoken to her daughter (the student’s mother) in regards to the student dropping out of the program When the mother asked me about receiving a refund for her unused time I explained that there was NO unused timeI proceeded to explain to her that the times that she’d canceled at the last minute counted as used timeI then explained that the teacher was already onsite and waiting for the student and therefor had to be paid I also explained to her that although the time was considered used that I would allow her child to receive all of that time in tutoring in the future but that I could not refund her for time that she was either a no-call/no-show or simply a no-show in response she hung up on meI proceeded to call her back immediately and although she did not answer, I left a voicemail asking her to call me back or to make an appointment to come into the center She did neither. A few days later the student’s grandmother called me she (as it states in her letter) informed me that her grandson had been retained and that he had been diagnosed with some issues I explained to her that we are committed to our students regardless of diagnoses and that in the time that her grandson had been here we saw progress that we could build on I also advised her that with consistency and repetition that I was confident that we could help her grandson to acquire missing skills During the conversation she was polite at first but when I explained to her that unscheduled absences were considered used time and that all I could do is to allow him to mathe time she became belligerent, and began screaming at me, threatening litigation as well as to call my corporate office When she called my corporate office she told countless untruthsShe said that she’d called me repeatedly (there were no voicemails from her with the exception of the two in one day that were left back to back which prompted my call to her immediately) She said that she was on a monthly payment plan and that I coerced her daughter into getting off of the monthly payment plan and into taking out a loan(They were never on monthly payments they started the program with YTS funding in place) I was told that she also stated that I said that I would refund the money if her grandson was diagnosed LD(I would never say that to anyone, doing so would indicate that there is no hope for the student and our very slogan is “YOUR CHILD CAN LEARN”). In all honesty I did say “this is a business”, I made the statement as a precursor for my next statement regarding paying the teachers for their time even when the student is a no-show I thought that by putting it that way I would be putting it into relatable terms and that it would help her to understand that we would incur a double loss if I refund her money that had already been paid out to the teacher In addition, she has no idea that I’d actually gone over and beyond to be accommodating when I offered to allow them to mathe time By relaying that information to our corporate office she essentially divulged the fact that I was willing to break company rules in order to both help the child and to please her I’d like to add, in all of the years that I have been doing this job nobody has ever called me a liar nor have I been called such a thing in my personal lifeProfessional, my staff and I go over and above the call of duty to help our students to achieve academic success; I have literally devoted my life to it Moreover, my staff has been successful in helping students diagnosed with Down ’s syndrome, Asperger’s, ADD, ADHD, hearing disorders, cognitive processing disorders, and the list goes onWe have never, ever given up on a child because of a learning difference In addition, please be advised that the anticipated arrival of her grandson for his scheduled tutoring sessions took extra preparation He has peanut allergies and before he would arrive we would make sure that the center was prepared for his safety All surfaces were cleaned and sanitized everyday just for him which takes time and a lot of effort.In addition, please be advised that we are not “affiliated” with the lender that serviced *** ***’s loan (YTS) Affiliation would indicate that we receive kickbacks or perks when a parent selects the financial offering and that is not the case at all, once again *** *** is stating a non-fact In truth we pay THEM a fee for the convenience of being able to offer our parents a financing option For example although, we only received $of the $that the client was awarded the parent is not penalized in any wayMeaning they still receive the quoted amount of instruction time to our financial loss To that end, the client asserts that we would owe her a refund of $and that her loan was for $that is absolutely ridiculous and is another untruth Although I understand that she is disappointed that she will not be getting a refund for the times that they’d scheduled but did not show I am curious as to how she can believe that she deserves a FULL refundIf it were possible for me to charge her for only the time that the student was in attendance her fee would be $ Please inform *** *** that I will do everything that I can to resolve this matter but she will need to make an appointment to come in and speak to me directly *** ***, I have done absolutely nothing wrong in this case, I hope that my center will not be penalized with your bureau for this issue We do not deserve the blemish that these allegations would produce I personally try to make every client happy and I usually do so by providing the best academic content delivery and customer service possibleIn this case I am still willing to do all that I can to provide a solution that will benefit both parties and that will not cost me my position.If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me either by email, phone or mail.Respectfully,K.LW***(Signed electronically for expedited receipt) Kimberly ** W***Center DirectorHuntington Learning CenterCedar Rd44118***
