Horrible company and work do not use them. Illegal plumbing(gas pipe to bbq), work subpar(shifts and uneven pavers), horrible ownership (chris) takes no responsibility to fix problems

In 2014 there was a delay in the paving schedule due to weather. We made several attempts to pave the driveway and complete the project however the dates and times that we had available did not work with [redacted]...

schedule. She wanted to be present during the paving, and we tried our best to accommodate it.   The initial issue at hand was one that did not have anything to do with the company.  The [redacted] has tire marks that were caused by a fertilizing application. They shared their grievances with us and we attempted to address the issue at no charge. The aftermath from power washing caused sand to come out in-between pavers and then caused a new issue of loosened pavers. A Second attempt was made to power wash again and re-sand with polymeric sand in order to stabilize any loose pavers.   [redacted] also claims that there is distorted finish on the pavers. We have sent the Cambridge rep twice, and they verified that is not the case.   Since 2015 there has been 7 attempts to address this issue by myself, Chris the owner of Gold Coast Pavers. On Friday 5/**/20** an appointment was missed, however the office called to reschedule for Monday 5/**/20** and both parties met. We have been in constant communication with the [redacted] since the issue has arisen, but have been not been able to accommodate the very specific day and times that the [redacted] have asked for. This was an issue that Gold Coast originally tried to rectify out of good faith when it was not an issue that we were responsible for. However we have been working with them and would like to see a resolution to this problem.   Gold Coast went there on 5/**/** between 10 and 11 and even though [redacted] spoke in a very condescending and in appropriate manner we are still looking to address the issue within a week or two time frame. We will reset several dozen pavers and replace a handful of pavers to the [redacted] satisfaction. We will be staying in touch with [redacted] on a personal level for scheduling. Gold Coast Pavers stands by our work and integrity, and plans on fully rectifying this issue.

I am extremely happy with the workmanship I received from Chris and GoldCoast Pavers and I HIGHLY recommend them !!!! They completed the work in a timely manner and were completely professional the entire time! They felt like part of the family by the time they were done and as a matter of fact , will be coming back to install pavers, a built in bar and BBQ AND new coping around my pool in the spring time!!! Oh and a basketball court !!!!!
I wouldn't recommend ANYONE else to do the work !!!

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

We have close to forty screenshots of texts over a period of 1 ½ years. Virtually every text was sent by US asking when they would be here and trying to get Chris Stasi to commit to a date and show up. Our contract was signed on 10/**/14 with a promise of Thanksgiving 2014 completion. They came on 11/**/14 to start the rip out on the job. They worked one day only. Masonry materials were delivered on 11/**/14. One truth from Chris: Yes, we wanted to be home when paving was done. ONE attempt was made to pave our driveway, on 12/**/14 (our anniversary). There was no appointment or advance notice for us. He showed up with asphalt and expected us to be home to clear the driveway (we were in NYC). One other day in January he wanted to pave but we were picking up our daughter from college. 3/**/15 - 3/**/15 we repeatedly called and texted but got no responses at all. The driveway sat unpaved till 4/**/15. Weather was NOT an issue. They were absent, inattentive, and unresponsive. The initial compliant is STILL (one of) the issue(s): loose and wobbly pavers. Chris Stasi denied this issue from the day we showed him, when the walkway was complete. Yes, we had tire mark concerns. Chris stated he would take care of it. They did power wash which seemed to solve the tire tread concern. Though they attempted to re sand using the polymeric sand, it was not done properly according to the manufacture’s guidelines. Those instructions state that all surfaces must be totally and thoroughly dry before applying the sand. That wasn’t the case. The pavers were WET! Thus the polymeric sand wasn’t able to bond fully and properly. This is the case all over our walkway: faulty polymeric sand application. Bonds are cracked more than they should be. We dispute entirely Gold Coast’s assertion that a Cambridge Rep was to our location, let alone twice. There are only 2 reps on LI. I spoke with one (Charlie) on 5/*/16. He never heard of us or our address or our issues. I sent him photos at his request. The other rep (Chuck) came by to speak with us on 5/**/16 (the day Chris received notice of our Revdex.com Complaint). Chuck also told us he had NEVER been on our property before. He did however agree that some pavers were mixed into the job that shouldn’t have been. When yet ANOTHER appointment was missed by Chris on 5/**/16, his office DID NOT call US to reschedule. That is an absolute untruth. As we have in the past, my husband called and texted multiple times to find out where he was and when he would be here. We never received a call or text to cancel from them. In 18 months they have never openly communicated about appointments with us. So, once again, we waited around all day for Gold Coast NOT to show up. There has been little to no communication on this owner’s part, or seemingly any interest in customer satisfaction. We wholeheartedly dispute the false claim that we have asked for specific appointment dates! That is utterly absurd. We have 35 pages of texts asking when he will be here. We have been pleading and begging him to get here and fix these problems. On 5/16/16, Chris actually showed up. We didn’t even care he was thirty minutes late! We had marked off all the problem pavers and there were at least 50! Timing wasn’t on our side since his office contacted him about our Revdex.com compliant while he was here talking with us. Chris got VERY angry! He actually puffed out his chest and got very red in the face. He took 2 steps towards me and I was thankful my husband was next to me. He actually accused US of threatening HIM by filing this complaint. Why is this construed as a threat? It was and is our sincere hope that the filing of this complaint will finally help us get satisfaction and service from this company. It shouldn’t have to take 18 months and filing with a formal agency. We feel that Chris actually believes what he says but he is extremely out of his league. He is incapable of managing a schedule, sticking to it, following through, and speaking with customers like a professional business owner. If he was, ALL of our problems would have been addressed and solved many months ago. There has been a total and complete lack of due diligence on his part to complete this job. Our fear is that the one year guarantee on workmanship will expire because it's taking so long to get the problems fixed.]

I have been trying to get Chris S[redacted] to come back to my home since April, 2015 to replace broken pavers--which are guaranteed for life and which were installed in 2012. I have made numerous phone calls to no avail....response on a few occasions: is he is coming. Well he has not come, no one has returned my recent phone calls and I have several broken pavers that are coming up. I paid a fair amount of money for this job and am now very frustrated with the lack of response and attention to my calls.

Review: I met with Chris Stasi on May **, 2015 at my residence to discuss the removal and installation of a new asphalt driveway. We agreed on a price and a start date of next month, June. He told me to mail a check made out to "cash" with a signed copy of the contract. I made a check out to Gold Coast Pavers dated 5/**/2015, #[redacted],for $100.00, I did not make it out to cash, I mailed it, the check was cashed. I called Chris about the the start date he said June 18th, I called that week asking him and he stated because of the rain he was backed up by a week but will start the job in another week. Another week went by with numerous calls to two of his phone numbers, no answer or reply. I finally reached him in the end of June , he stated he was behind and I was being irrational in the whole deal. I requested that he does not do the job and to refund me my deposit. He said ok, and good luck finding someone as good as him to do the job. I called last week no answer, finally yesterday, July [redacted] he stated to me that I must go to the office and file a release form and he would text me the business address, 24 hours later no address. I took a ride to the address [redacted] , the place looked like someone ran out of there and took all the furnishings, it was wide open 7am in the morning. They list another address [redacted], again this place looks like a ghost town. All I am asking is for my deposit of $100.00 back .Desired Settlement: refund my money and let the public beware of contractors like such

Review: We got our porch & paved walk way re-done by Gold Coast Pavers in [redacted]. Here are our complaints & horrific experience when dealing with them:1)this company does NOT commit to ANY of the timing they tell you. The initial project was delayed about 3 weeks from the 'start' date, but we let that slide.2)they destroyed one of our Azalea bushes by dumping all the broken up cement on top of it (HAVE PICS). We told them about it & they said they'll "fix it". All they did was remove the dumped broken up cement from on top of it. Again, let this one slide too3)there was no real "design plan" with them. [redacted] came, gave an estimate and then we went to the showroom just to pick out what we wanted. The guys came, started ripping everything up and we noticed that they weren't building our porch like we wanted them to! So lack of communication between the owner and workers for sure. They also didn't notice a flaw where our window length wise flower box was. They just built the porch, & when it came time to put up the railing, the railing was going to hit up against our existing flower pot!4)there are chips found in 2 different stones plus a stone had some metal rod sticking out. WE removed it & it left a mark where the metal was. We've asked them MANY MANY MANY times to come bk & fix. They keep telling us a date & they NEVER COME. They knew how to come and collect the payment tho.At last we told them either come or we r going to report to Revdex.com. The owners response was via text 'YOUR THREATS AREN'T GOING TO HELP YOU'LAST STRAW & AWFUL WAY TO SPEAK TO PAYING CUSTOMERS WHO'S PAID THEM THOUSANDS OF $Desired Settlement: We want the money for a new Azalea bush plus the money to have someone else come in and replace those chipped and damaged stones.

Response:

After completion of the job located at [redacted], there was one initial complaint by the homeowner ([redacted]'s) which was there was concrete debris from the demolition in the flower beds. This was then cleaned and Gold Coast Pavers was paid in full by the homeowner at that time. There were no other complaints at that point in time from the homeowners.

A week later, Gold Coast Pavers received a complaint for efflorescence, which is the natural oxidation of new pavers. Gold Coast Pavers sales representative [redacted] explained to the homeowner that it will go away.

On August *, 2013, a complaint from the residence came in that there were 2 chipped bricks. The owner of Gold Coast Pavers, [redacted] informed the homeowner that instead of going through Cambridge warranty (that can take up to 60 days for an approval to do the repair), that Gold Coast Pavers would come back to the residence and fix it when we were in the area. [redacted] stated at this point in time we are behind due to the weather but he would try to have it done by the following week, weather permitting.

Gold Coast Pavers had full intentions of doing the brick repair. Gold Coast Pavers commit to repairs being completed within 30 days of complaint. In this case, this repair was completed on Monday August **, 2013.

There was no complaint about a disrrupted Azalea bush. There was no requirement or need for a design on the stoop, since it was categorized as a "standard' stoop. After the homeowner signed the proposal and the project was started at the residence, the homeowner asked for a change of design on the stoop. Gold Coast Pavers then had to dismember part of the job, which was done at no charge.

The homeowner expressed that he wanted immediate action on the repair, but again, Gold Coast Pavers gives a 30 day window for repairs. This repair was done in less than that and the homeowner was told we have full intentions to fix your repair when we are in the area and weather permitting. Again, Gold Coast Pavers fixed this repair on August **, 2013.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Dear [redacted],

My apologies for the delay, I had some personal business to attend.

Gold Cost Pavers did end up coming back, AFTER we told them we were going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com, since it was getting to be unprofessional and we were getting jerked around.

We can consider this case closed. However, [redacted] texted my husband to “call me please” on Wednesday, 9/**. Not sure why he is contacting us. We really don’t want to communicate with these people directly, we feel more comfortable doing it thru a mediator. For example, if something else happens to these bricks and we need this company to come back, does the Revdex.com now coordinate this stuff?

Just in case you need them, here are my responses in RED to theirs -

After completion of the job located at [redacted] in [redacted], there was one initial complaint by the homeowner ([redacted]'s) which was there was concrete debris from the demolition in the flower beds. This was then cleaned and Gold Coast Pavers was paid in full by the homeowner at that time. There were no other complaints at that point in time from the homeowners.

The first complaint about the debris laying against our basement window and ontop of our bush WAS NOT AFTER the completion of the job. We told them about this on the first day (they were here total of two days). The second day they were here, they did clean it up, BUT our bush was left destroyed (I send you a pic)

A week later, Gold Coast Pavers received a complaint for efflorescence, which is the natural oxidation of new pavers. Gold Coast Pavers sales representative [redacted] explained to the homeowner that it will go away.

Yes, we were concerned about what this white stuff was. No one told us ahead of time to expect this. We aren't masonry professionals.

It took us about a week to find these chipped bricks, and the one with the metal sticking out. Not sure where they got Aug. [redacted] from, as that was already 5 weeks after the competition of the job. There is NO WAY we told them 5 weeks later. Would love to see some proof of this supposed FIRST complaint about the faulty bricks on 8/*.

We were communicating with [redacted] via text (mostly) ans many phone calls placed. Im sure I can ask my provider to pull a copy of all these conversations for exact dates (if required).

I have NO IDEA what this Cambridge Warranty is about. There where 3 bricks that were faulty, either came that way from Cambridge or chipped during the installation. Either which way, we had EXTRA bricks, so there was no need to go thru the Cambrige warranty. I can see that if we had none left over.

Gold Coast Pavers had full intentions of doing the brick repair. Gold Coast Pavers commit to repairs being completed within 30 days of complaint. In this case, this repair was completed on Monday August **, 2013.

Im sure they had full intentions, but we got the run around too many times and our trust with them got destroyed. After each follow up with them, we were told over and over again it would be the "next day". The days would come and go, and no one came. Sunny days and all. We were never informed about 60 days for any approval or anything like that. They told us to mark the faulty bricks so they knew which ones to replace, we would go and do that each night, and when we came home at the end of the day they said they were coming, the marks were still there. We did this (watsed our time) a few times.

It took us to kindly tell them if you arent coming, then we are going to contact Revdex.com.

[redacted] answered back "Your Threats aren't going to help you".

We found this to be a very unprofessional response, along with the entire experience., especially to customers who sent a pretty penny.

Of-course there was a complaint about our Azela Bush, that was the FIRST one we made. Hence, the cleanup of the debris off of it, plus the pic we took before they cleaned up in case something like this happens.

We asked for the change because they were going to build ridiculous steps that went from one end of the "extended" stoop that we wanted to the other end!!! That would've made the steps 11-12 feet in length. That’s a standard stoop? We spoke up about this because they weren't doing what we discussed!!!!!!! Hence the reason for a design plan so this kind of thing DOESNT happen!

None of this was ever told to us. If it was, then we wouldn’t be following up with them every time they said they were coming, but never came. He said repeatedly that they were going to come, but NEVER came. This happened quit a few times. And, just to add – we created the contract on May **, 2013. We again were told it would take a couple of weeks to come and start the job. They didn’t start the job until July *, 2013 (6 weeks after signing) Just sayin.

Thanks in advance,

Gold Coast Pavers did a fine job on our pavers. Which when you really look at it, it's not so hard to accomplish since the pavers are mostly pre-cut. Workmanship was fine. However our driveway was/is a disaster. First, the pitch wasn't calculated correctly. Second, there is severe water retention at the joint of the driveway and the apron. Third, there are several water puddles (and now ruts) that when were addressed to the owner (Chris), his response was that this is normal and proceeded to tell me that most of his customers driveways look the same. Now that I am educated on what the base should have been versus what I got, I now know that not only is my base insufficient, the asphalt aggregate is not up to par with what I should have received. Do not use them for your driveway unless you want below average work.
