Clarification:- There was no special battery charger delivered with the cart The charger delivered with the cart was the original charger that came with the cart when new (years ago) and was a stock (for that time) charger There was no statements made that a special or new charger came with the cart All used carts are sold with the chargers that came with them.- When the cart was sold, we represented it as a used car without warranty The only warranty stated was one year remaining (at time of sale) on a year pro-rated warranty on the batteries The customer did not call us with any complaints on the batteries during the warranty period.- The cart purchased had a "special" body on it which made it unique, but the vehicle under the body was a stock Club Car chassis and running gear, with a stock charger The customer was fully aware that the car had been heavily discounted because of the age of the cart Newer golf carts were shown to the customer, but she selected the car because of low price and the unique body.- If the customer had requested a new charger at the time of purchase, we would have delivered one but the cost of the charger would have been added to the cost of the purchase.- The customer received a fair value for her purchase, but must accept responsibility for failures that occurred years and months after purchase on a year old cart sold without warranty

I am rejecting this response because: I have worked in an industry that required battery chargers on a daily basis, I have never ever seen a battery charger only last years but I have seen lots of battery chargers that last to years, if this was a concern I should have been notified when purchasing the golf cart, I wouldnt have bought the golf cart from this company had I been notified that there was even a risk that the golf cart battery charger would fail to operate before the batteries needed to be replacedi am willing to be compensated with a used replacement or a partial used and cost, but if there was going to be a dollar problem with the battery charger before the batteries expired then I should have been notifiedsincerely [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because: I wasnt informed that this could be a problem at the time of purchase and the golf cart doesnt operate at all if the charger malfunctions or stops workingis one third of what I paid for the golf carti think thats a valid thing to inform someone of, that it in years its going to cost you another or the golf cart isnt going to worki live in a community of golf cartsnot one single person has had to replace a battery charger and several of my neighbors have golf carts older than mine

The customer's complaint is about a battery charger.  In May of 2012, the customer purchased a 25 year old golf cart with 2 year old batteries for $1600 plus tax.   Used golf carts come with used battery chargers.  The battery charger failed in January of 2015 (2 years and 8 months...

after purchase).  The customer was aware the cart was a very old cart.Because the batteries were 2 years old when purchased, I did make sure the customer understood she would need batteries within 3 years.  I did not, however, tell her that nothing else would fail on a 25 year old golf cart.  It is unreasonable to expect that of a cart that old.  As a point of reference, purchase of a battery charger with a new cart is warranted for only 4 years.  This charger was the same age as the cart (25 years old).- It is not unusual for older battery chargers to fail, but they can usually be repaired for around $100- This customer's charger failed, but was uneconomical to repair.  The replacement charger costs $ 520 plus sales tax.

I am rejecting this response because: I have worked in an industry that required battery chargers on a daily basis, I have never ever seen a battery charger only last 2 years but I have seen lots of battery chargers that last 20 to 50 years, if this was a concern I should have been notified when purchasing the golf cart, I wouldnt have bought the golf cart from this company had I been notified that there was even a risk that the golf cart battery charger would fail to operate before the batteries needed to be replaced. I am willing to be compensated with a used replacement or a partial used and cost, but if there was going to be a 600.00 dollar problem with the battery charger before the batteries expired then I should have been notified. sincerely [redacted]

Review: I have disabilities and I am unable to run my service dog. so I purchased a golf cart to help run my dog, I purchased the golf cart in may 2012 and the man told me the only thing I had to worry about was the battery life would only be two years if I ran the car around allot daily.when the man delivered the car he told me that the car had a 'special' battery and he changed out the regular battery charger for the one that isnt working now the day he delievered the golf cart.I have now been told it will cost $600.00 to replace the battery. I would not have purchased that golf cart had I been told the battery charger wouldnt even last as long as the batteries or the mechanicals of the car.Desired Settlement: I would like a replacement battery charger; I dont care if the battery charger is used, but I should have been provided a battery charger that would at least last the life of the car and the life of the batteries.

I think thats a valid thing to inform someone of, that it in 2 years its going to cost you another 600 or the golf cart isnt going to work. I live in a community of golf carts. not one single person has had to replace a battery charger and several of my neighbors have golf carts older than mine.
