We have reviewed all of our repair orders and submissions to General MotorsThe vehicle has been in several timesWe found that the second time it was in for a cam actuator that we could get this covered under the vehicles powertrain warranty I have spoken to her and explain
that we have received reimbursement from General Motors and are sending out a check for approximately $ This does not directly respond it to the current vehicle issue with the ABSI am sending her repair order history information as well as the information to get a hold of General Motors Buick customer assistance regarding I am sending her repair order history information as well as the information to get a hold of General Motors Buick customer assistance regarding why that is not covered under warranty after expiration

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID#11500982, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of why I am rejecting this response appear below:
The business has still not accepted responsibility for not properly testing my vehicle. When I picked up my vehicle from the dealer it was not working from the moment it was handed back to me in the service center. It is implausible to believe that the car was properly tested and they failed to function when handed back to me. I did not even have to leave the premises to figure out the car had been fixed. Service adviser [redacted] even advised me before I had approved any work that putting a new throttle body in my vehicle had fixed it and it was working properly. Again this was not the case when I picked up the vehicle. The business needs to compensate me for my time and their mistake.
Regards,
[redacted]

Hello,[redacted]  has given negative reviews on multiple websites and I have responded to him. I believe that my response sums up the situation pretty well. [redacted] approved the replacement of a throttlebody on his vehicle. It was clearly damaged. It was inoperative  to the point...

that [redacted] was forced to disconnect it from the system in order to hobble it to the dealership for repairs.  It is also worth noting  that the only codes  failure codes before  The throttle body replacement were related to throttle.  As noted by his odometer and repair order  my technician test drove the vehicle for 2 miles.   The service advisor then drove the vehicle to the service lane  without any check engine lights.   Unfortunately [redacted]'s vehicle stalled just after leaving our facility. He restarted it and brought it back in. We diagnosed it with several timing codes  unrelated to the throttlebody.   He would've liked to have known earlier about the timing issue    We  found out about the timing issue at the exact same time that he did.  It never had failure codes for these items at any time while in our shop.  He wants us to remove the now programmed  part to my inventory  as well as reinstall his old nonfunctioning part while giving him a complete refund.  I have attached below my response to [redacted]s reviews as well as his response back. I don't know how to explain it to him any clearer than I already have. Sincerely Jeff Laethem  Here is my response to his review:I appreciated your time on the phone and I'm sorry that we do not see eye to eye on this.  The bottom line is when you purchase a part and install it on a vehicle it cannot be returned to inventory. For several reasons. Not the least of which is it is against the state and federal law. The other reason is it is now been programmed specifically to your vehicle. Obviously the labor cannot be returned as our technician has already done his work. Without question your vehicle needed the part that was installed on it. As you know throttle codes were tripped. According to you the independent shop that it worked on your vehicle prior to us damaged the throttlebody and you actually had to disconnect it in order to drive it to the dealership. Upon disconnecting it you inadvertently cracked the connector to the throttlebody. Once this sort of damage occurs on the throttlebody it must be replaced as the individual parts could not be serviced. As you can most likely see from your odometer we road tested the car 2 miles and no longer had any throttlebody faults or codes. Unfortunately immediately upon leaving your car tripped off several timing codes unrelated to your throttle body. I understand the predicament in deciding whether or not to invest more money in a 9 your old vehicle with high mileage. Please understand that we also have no service history with your vehicle as it has been serviced by third party shops. I like in this situation to an experience I had on my home recently. I had a few water leaks in my homes living room and kitchen ceilings. Our local roof contractor came by and it was clear to him and I that the roof needed to be replaced as it had several issues and was near the end of it's usable life. I had the roof contractor install the new roof. Less than a week later there was a driving rain and my wife called me to tell me that there was water all over the living room floor!  (she wasn't happy with me because the painter had just fixed the damage inside the home). The roof contractor concluded that this leak was more than likely somewhere between the flashing underneath a second-floor window. To fix this leak I had to call out a different contractor to remove the siding and replace flashing around several windows. I cannot ask the roofing contractor to remove the new roof he just installed and refund me the The cost of the shingles and the labor that his techs performed (and reinstall my old roof). It needed a new roof and as my house was built in the early 1960s there are other conditions due to age.It is worth noting that my service manager and service advisor in order to increase your satisfaction with the situation offered a massive discount on the work that needs to be performed. Also during our conversation I offered my assistance  for you to take action against the independent shop that broke your throttle body. You concluded that that would be a waste of your time and my time. I disagree with this wholeheartedly. If the independent shop damaged the throttle body why wouldn't they be culpable?  Any licensed repair facility in the state of Michigan is subject to certain standards. If they violated the standards by breaking your throttle body they more than likely owe you the money for the repair that we performed at my dealership. We can help you prove this as well as show you the proper channels to resolve the situation with the independent shop. I sincerely hope that you can see this from my teams perspective. Again I am ready to assist you with the independent shop. [redacted] responded back with this:I again appreciate the time you've taken to respond here and the your anecdote. However, the problem is you hired a roof contractor to replace your roof, not to fix a leak. If we're comparing a car to house I hired Ray Leathem Service Center to fix a leak not replace a roof. You told me the leak was fixed and it wasn't. That's a mistake the contractor pays for not the customer.I responded to [redacted] with this response:I believe my anecdote is spot on. I initially hired the contractor because of the leak. He saw several areas of damage on the roof that were causing leaks. I no longer had leaks in the kitchen after he fixed the roof yet still had one in the adjacent living room. I still had a leak in the home. Therefore I had to have the roofers referred contractor perform further repairs above and beyond the initial roof repair. These repairs cost me additional money and were only noticeable after the most obvious problem was repaired. We are a service center and we can fix your vehicle. You've made it clear that It costs more than you want to pay. You feel it exceeds the value of your vehicle. No matter how you slice it since another shop damaged your throttle body and the vehicle will never run properly without that part being replaced. You and I are absolutely certain of this. There are additional problems with your vehicle that are only apparent when the vehicle actually runs. It was not possible for it to run remotely properly with a damaged throttle body.  You are not willing to pay to fix the timing problems with your vehicle. I have offered a possible solution by helping you with reimbursement from the outside shop that damaged your throttle body. If you get the assistance from the outside shop for  damaging the throttle body in question your net out-of-pocket cost for the necessary throttle body will be zero. Freeing up the cash to pay whom ever you want to fix the timing issues with your Caliber.
