Review: Dear Sir or Ma'am,I tried to resolve this situation without any outside involvement. To no avail, I am not satisified with the final product that was paid in full BEFORE the work was completed. measurements were take for both length and height. it was not brought to MY attention about the height distence. The stove has a 2' long on two sides and a 2 1/2' along the back gap of 1". IT WAS SAID THAT "THIS IS NOT THEY'RE RESPONSIBILITY". I asked [redacted], he said it didn't look good, however, it wasn't thier responsibility. It wasn't [redacted]'s responsiblity either. After spending $2200.00 on countertops, this should have been addressed and now it needs to be fixed. Here is there's response. "After [redacted]'s site visit today, we have concluded that [redacted]'s install is correct and their workmanship is good. The back rail behind the stove, is the correct depth. [redacted] let me know that you had the outlet too far out and that he helped you fix that. The seam is a good, clean seam. The final seam location was determined at fabrication time by the fabricator as indicated on your counter drawing that you signed off on. The height of the slide in versus the height of the counter is not [redacted]'s responsibility. The stone is of standard thickness. As heights of stoves/ranges can vary greatly & it is the responsibility of the contractor to make sure the height will be correct. Since you did not hire us to do the labor portion, we would not have known. We found are archived measure from when [redacted] had measured your kitchen a few years ago. Your free standing range was not flush with the laminate top - as shown in the photos. We feel that we as "The [redacted]" and our vendor "[redacted]" have given you the product you paid for and been very accommodating. I'll be happy to forward the price of the "granite frame" for the slide in once I receive it".I got the price back for the granite frame - including tax your price $ 379.67 installed. I will keep this information inDesired Settlement: Have the recommended suggestion completed WITHOUT the additional cost. They claim "[redacted] & [redacted]" it's NOT thier responsibility. However, it it thier responsibility to recieve the product and install to the customer's satisifaction? I am not pleased with the final product. The [redacted] and [redacted] of Pawcatuck, Ct. should and will know this. This is POOR customer service on ANY level!

Customers beware! - We hired this contractor for a job that was supposed to take one month and ended up taking literally 5 months and paid a whole lot more than what the contractor originally quoted. It was like buying a brand new car and being told that engine, brakes, headlights, paint was extra. READ very carefully your contract! They will put in the cheapest parts they can lay their hands on. Besides the additional money and headaches, the actual work was sub-par, they left holes between walls and flooring, tore apart dry walls and did not replace them correctly, the windows do not close appropriately, the electrical outlets they chose do not fit well and stick out of the wall. The heating vents they put in did not work.
The gutters fell apart after a week, some of the siding they put in fell apart as well.
The paint job they did is absolutely unprofessional.
They miss-measured the surface of the room by a whopping 10 x 6 yards and forced us to pay more to cover additional parts and labor (over $1,7000). Then they told us the floor was not even and we had to pay another $2000 to cover.
He owner was extremely difficult to work with and worked whenever they wanted to. They sometimes stayed a whole week without showing up, or would come to work at 4pm and leave very late at night.
We paid them $17,000 as down payment and they started two months later. They will ask for the remainder while they are not even close to being finished, and If you do pay them as we did, they came to work whenever they felt like it.
We also paid them for a building permit, they never applied for one and took the money – we found out when our borough put a cease and desist sign at our door.
Absolutely dishonest person, he is very good at talking and convincing people. Stay away from Goldstar.
