I am rejecting this response because:Goldan Motors provided false advertising, poor service and product on the vehicle they sold; they advertised a 3 day or 300 mile warranty, whichever comes first; however, I notified them within 2 days. on a Friday morning before I had to be at work at 2:00 pm, and that did not matter; they did not have new brakes, under 2k miles on them as they advertised, as they were metal-on-metal and the calipers weren't working correctly. On Monday the noise stopped and the car consistently sounded like something was dragging; I was in Roseville at the time; I didn't think it was safe to drive far, especially to Hopkins, so I brought it into Midas which was close by. I did not request to be picked up; I was calling him to let him know I was going to be late and he offered to come and pick me up. I accepted the check from Goldan, as he told me to, "take it or leave it." Goldan is a dishonest company.

On 8/24/16 the complainer purchased a 2010 Kia Forte from Goldan Motors. She test drove the vehicle prior to purchasing it, and was offered for her to take it to an independent service center for her own inspection. She declined. point inspection on all our vehicles. Both the front brakes and the tires were within spec. However, unfortunately, our mechanics are only human and can sometime overlook things. In this case they may have missed the rear brakes, as when driving the vehicle there was nothing to indicate that the rear brakes were in need of service. They did not make any noise when the vehicle left our lot.  That being said, we went well out of our way to go well above and beyond with this customer. In fact, my sales person stayed 3 hours after our closing time to originally show her the vehicle. When she came to pick it up a couple of days later, she took the bus to the wrong bus stop 3 blocks away. Again, my sales person stepped up and actually closed the lot for a bit to go pick her up, at her request. After she had purchased the vehicle, she seemed very happy with her purchase. That was a Wednesday. She then called our lot on Friday late afternoon, and stated the brakes were making noise. As my sales person is not a mechanic, he asked her to drive the car a few times and hit the brakes as modern brakes can make noise when they get wet, sit for a period, etc. Not having the vehicle to inspect it, we could not make a determination of what could possibly be the cause of the noise. My sales person went on to to tell the complainer, that if the noise persists to bring it in to us and we would be more than happy to take care of it. We did not hear back from complainer for about a week, at which time I received a very angry call from the complainer. Raising her voice, she tried to explain that it was going to cost her more than $800 to fix the car. I asked her how she knew that. She then told me she brought it to another national franchise shop for repair. I then indicated to her that, I cannot pay for other shops repair work, and had she brought it to Goldan Motors as we had asked, we would have been more than happy to take care of the issue. I explained, we get a sizeable discount on repair work and parts. However, now since we were not able to diagnose the issue, we were going on only what she explained to us a week ago. Based on that information and what my mechanic could remember of the work, and inspection of the vehicle, we came to the conclusion that we would have needed to replace the rear brake pads and either turn the rotors or replace them. I priced those parts out and got the rate for a brake job from my shop. That total was the amount refunded to her. I talked to the complainer on the phone about it and she accepted that amount. I sent her a check for that amount, and she cashed it. We considered this closed, as she did in fact agree to the terms.
