noticed that the upper radiator hose was not getting hot like it shouldWhich would indicate that the thermostat being stuck closedTechnician took the time to manually disconnect and reconnect each of the actuators to test themAfter the fact he got in the vehicle and begin to cycle through the different modes / temperatures on the dials to ensure that the actuators were working appropriatelyHe recommended starting by fixing the thermostat, flushing the cooling system, and fixing the bad/noisy fan clutchThe customer approved all the repairs and the work was performed and completedThe technician test drove the vehicle approximately miles to ensure that the heat was coming from the ventsIt was consistently measuring at degrees faranheit during the final test drive so the vehicle was returned to the customerShe returned a week later and complained that the vehicle was still not getting hot enough for herThe tech pulled the vehicle in and monitored the heat from the center vent with a digital thermometer and temperatures were in excess of degrees faranheitHe then took the vehicle for a test drive and within a few miles of driving the vehicle the temperature had dropped from degrees at the center vent to degreesThe symptoms led the technician to believe there was a possibility of a clogged heater core itselfAt which time the estimate was presented to the customer for heater core replacementShe returned for a third visit with the same complaintThe technician pulled the vehicle in and began testing procedures using the on dash dials and disconnecting and reconnecting actuators while in different locations and modesThe center vent was blowing at approximately degrees with all actuators testing perfectlyTechnician did not erase the actuator codes from the BCM during this final testing procedure, which is likely why the dealership found an active code in the system
