I had about 8 pieces of jewelry and was looking to sell, most of them charms, three of the charms were 22k and the rate was 1275, they paid me $350, they said that it was the best price they could offer and had very little margin for any profit. At the same time, I also showed them a bracelet 22k of 33.8 grams and they offered a price of $450 the best they could offer. I decided not to sell this piece to them. I checked in a few minutes at the other stores nearby and to my utter shock, they offered for the same bracelet a little over $1000. It was then I knew they cheated me big time for the other pieces of 22k. To make it worst they operate under such bad business practices, they didn't even give me a receipt for the transaction. Neither did they bother to respond to my emails to give me a receipt. The worst experience ever!

Review: I was quoted $3900 for to have the setting for an engagement ring made along with a wedding band, but the shop charged my card $5334.88, which is $4900 plus tax. The charge I made was not what we had agreed. They refuse to refund the transaction and I have since asked other jewelers who say our original quote of $3900 was about correct. I was not given a refund policy and the final specifications of the order had not been agreed so work has not even started. I did not even receive a description of what I had ordered.Desired Settlement: The vendor refused to refund my card, so I have contacted American Express who have put in a dispute for the transaction. I want a full refund.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

As stated numerous times before, the verbal quote of $3900 was absolutely given, we even have evidence of this from text messages we sent to my fiancee's mother before we signed. We were deliberately misled.

I completely reject the statement that I have refused to work with them to resolve this. I offered to take a $200 loss and accept a refund of $5134 to try to come to resolution but Golden Classics instead told me they would refund me only $2334 which is $3000 less than the amount I paid. This is totally unacceptable and another demonstration that they are attempting to exploit their position.

With regards to the Yelp review; my fiancee posted a review of our experience which she is perfectly entitled to do. The Golden Classics Yelp page currently has 21 reviews which have been filtered out because they have been flagged as fraudulent, which suggests that someone has been posting false reviews to manipulate the rating. The only legitimate review that has been left on their page is the one from my fiancee.

I strongly urge Golden Classics to resolve this situation. I have given them a very reasonable offer which still stands; I will accept a refund of $5134. If they refuse to agree on a fair resolution then I will continue to pursue all of the options available to me to recover my money.

We just wanted to inform you [redacted] and his fiancee [redacted] actually returned to our shop and apologized to us regarding this whole situation. His fiancee [redacted] stated she genuinely loved the rings and even decided to make an additional change to the design of the ring by having us add more diamonds to the piece even though she wrote a negative review which they refuse to rectify we are just glad they are happy with the craftsmanship of the rings we made for them. We are in the process of adding more diamonds to the rings as Mr. [redacted] and his fiancee

requested once completed we'll contact them for pickup. We also wanted to thank you as our mediator for being patient, fair and just regarding this unpleasant situation. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact us regarding the matter at ###-###-####.
