Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have contacted GCC since they first had finished the building concerning the corner of the building was bowed from to much contact pressure with the foundationGCC showed no intrest every time I called them the first yearI have spent a lot of time spreading gravel around the foundation, weed eating and pulling weeds by handEvery time I tried to contact them by email there was no response as to not create a paper trailThis past year we have conversed sevral times and you did not show up for any of the appointments you had madeNow more of the same and here is documentation from Metal Mart the manufacturer and holder of the year warranty which is worthless now because of GCCThis building showed signs of rust after its second year probably when the paint seal was broken with scaping of the foundation when assembling and currently contacting the foundation From the Manufacturer: At the time of the inspection, I did not have access to the inside of the building, but I did speak with Mr and he confirmed that insulation is present on the interior side of the panels, and this insulation extends down to the concrete floorAdditionally, the Galvalume panels are in contact with the concrete floorBoth of the conditions have the potential to create a corrosion problemWith the insulation extending to the floor, moisture can wick up from the bottom of the panel and saturate the insulationWith no way to dry out, the moisture is trapped against the back of the panelThis condition can lead to this type of problemAlso, with regards to the panels in contact with the concrete floor, the possibility exists for a chemical reaction to take place between the Galvalume panel and the concrete floorPlease see the attached White Paper from US SteelRed rust corrosion is a condition that is beyond the scope of our paint warrantyBased on my findings, [redacted] will not take further action in this matter Regards, [redacted]

Please see the attached letter and supporting pictures of our findings from GCC's Manager in response to Mr***'s 10/30/letter Also, please note that on our 11/visit, Mr*** had already began painting the panels himself rather than wait for a response to his 10/30/claims

Re:
Revdex.com complaint #***
To whom
it may concern:
To
further verify our previous stance and to make a good faith effort on November
3, 2014, Mr*** our Construction Superintendent, revisited the building at
the request of *** *** ** to gather more information in response to Mr
*** most recent letter to the Revdex.comWe would like to
point out a few more discrepancies and confusion, not only in regards to Mr
*** claims but on the part of Metal Sales and more directly, *** ***
Mr*** stated in this last letter that, "This building showed signs of
rust after its second year probably when the paint seal was broken with
scraping of the foundation when assembling..." The metal panels or trim do
not have a special "paint seal" on the ends of themWhen in fabrication
they are sheared by a machine which is essentially a big scissor and the edges
are left bare metal with no paint or clear protectant which is why it is so
important to keep caustic agents away from the panels and trim, as noted in the
previously supplied WarrantyWe see in our inspection and in the attached
pictures that a weed barrier or poison was used because you can see the dead
grass in the gravelWe also have photographic proof that the insulation was
installed to industry standard and that the insulation itself does not contact
the slabThe insulation has a vinyl backer that was folded under to prevent
wicking, eliminating *** ***s erroneous claim they made based off of Mr
*** information that the insulation touches the slabI reference his letter
in which he quotes *** ***, "At the time of inspection, I did not have
access to the inside of the building, but I did speak with Mr*** and he
confirmed that insulation is present on the interior side of the panels, and
this insulation extends down to the concrete floor." It does not extend to
the concrete floor it has the vinyl barrier protecting it from the concrete
floorThe letter goes on to state again quoting *** ***,
"additionally, the galvalume panels are in contact with the concrete floor..."
Again as proven in the photos that too is incorrectAgain, Golden Crescent
Construction stands by our original claim that all material was installed in
accordance with industry standardWe take issue with being falsely accused,
not necessarily on Mr*** part because he is being told incorrect
information by "experts", but "passing the buck" by these
suppliers is abhorrent and is quite honestly one reason we have taken to
fabricating our own materialDue to the unsubstantiated claims made by Mr
*** and *** ***, we now have a claim on our Revdex.com account and would
appreciate it being removed as quickly as possible to rectify this situation
Sincerely
*** ***

I apologize for the delayed response. Apparently we were aware of this complaint until 10/20/14 due to the email address on your records being obsolete.  Thank you for taking the time to follow-up with a call.  I have attached a letter from our [redacted], along with...

supplemental documentation gathered in our investigation, in response to the customer's complaint.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
[redacted] [redacted]
Golden Crescent Construction October 21, 2014Mr. [redacted]Cedar Creek, Texas [redacted]Re: Edge creep on Metal panels and trimMr. [redacted]Per your request, [redacted], our Field Superintendent visited your site on TuesdayOctober 14, 2014. Based on the attached pictures and previous experience of notonly GCC but other metal building suppliers, it is our determination that theissue is most likely caused by some type of weed barrier such as round up beingapplied and sprayed on the panel. The panels are installed per industrystandard 1/8" above the concrete drip ledge. The notion that the rust iscaused by touching concrete is disproved by looking at the pictures labeledcorner 1 and corner 2. The corner trim does not touch the concrete in any way,and it has substantial rust. The statement that it is somehow due to theinsulation "wicking" is also incorrect because industry standardinsulation installation procedure is to fold the vinyl backing back under andup the sheet side of the fiberglass in order to seal off the exposed fiberglassand thus to prevent wicking. If this had not been done the yellow fiberglassinsulation would be visible from the exterior of the building between the sheetand slab. As for the complaint of lack of communication, we can provide proofto the Revdex.com that we did either speak with you or attempted tospeak with you in March, May and June. Also to clarify information learned fromour investigation is that Metal Sales sent one Representative, which was theirsales Representative, and then the coil manufacturer [redacted] sent arepresentative of their own. Both parties deny claiming the insulation wasincorrectly installed, since they did not have access to the interior of thebuilding they could not have known how the insulation was installed with thetail flipping over. They based the insulation statement on information given byyou which was untrue. As for the statement of panels touching the concretefloor, per the pictures this is also untrue. I can provide at Revdex.com's request thephone logs and the letter form [redacted] if they would like. So our conclusionbased on our investigation and our standard installation practices is that therust area is consistent with a weed barrier, fertilizer or other caustic agent, which per the attached document voids and warranty. As such, GCC can assume noresponsibility for the issue and will not be held liable for impropermaintenance.Sincerely[redacted] [redacted] Golden Crescent Construction

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have contacted GCC since they first had finished the building concerning the corner of the building was bowed from to much contact pressure with the foundation. GCC showed no intrest every time I called them the first year. I have spent a lot of time spreading gravel around the foundation, weed eating and pulling weeds by hand. Every time I tried to contact them by email there was no response as to not create a paper trail. This past year we have conversed sevral times and you did not show up for any of the appointments you had made. Now more of the same and here is documentation from Metal Mart the manufacturer and holder of the 45 year warranty which is worthless now because of GCC. This building showed signs of rust after its second year probably when the paint seal was broken with scaping of the foundation when assembling and currently contacting the foundation.
From the Manufacturer:    At the time of the inspection, I did not have access to the inside of the building, but I did speak with Mr.
and he confirmed that insulation is present on the interior side of the panels, and this insulation
extends down to the concrete floor. Additionally, the Galvalume panels are in contact with the concrete
floor. Both of the conditions have the potential to create a corrosion problem. With the insulation extending
to the floor, moisture can wick up from the bottom of the panel and saturate the insulation. With no way to
dry out, the moisture is trapped against the back of the panel. This condition can lead to this type of
problem. Also, with regards to the panels in contact with the concrete floor, the possibility exists for a
chemical reaction to take place between the Galvalume panel and the concrete floor. Please see the
attached White Paper from US Steel. Red rust corrosion is a condition that is beyond the scope of our paint warranty. Based on my findings,[redacted] will not take further action in this matter.
Regards,
[redacted]
