I am Todd *** SrDirector of Marketing at Majestic StarWe have spoken to Mr*** since he filed this complaint (it seems that he was satisfied with our explanation)That said, here are the detailsThe promotion to which he
refers is called "First $on Us", which is for new members of our loyalty program (Majestic Rewards)Mr*** was a new member and therefore qualified for the "First $on Us" rebate offerThe rebate offer is for Free Slot Play (ie, slot credits) in the amount that was lost on the date of enrollmentThis is clearly stated in the details of the promotionMr***, who lives several hundred miles from our casino, expected a "check" for the amount that he could then cash (ie, not Free Slot Play)During his recent call our Database Manager reviewed our website with Mr***, which clearly states that the player will be mailed a "rebate offer"Again, it seems that Mr*** understood the distinction when we reviewed it with himAdditionally, we told him that we would extend the valid date of the offer for him, given that he lives so far away and can't visit frequently (he can simply call Joe prior to his next visit)

I was able to speak with someone earlier this week about my complaint, and the Database Manager I spoke with was very courteous and apologetic over the phone, which I appreciatedHowever, I would not characterize a website saying you will receive a "rebate offer" as being clear, unless you are sending a rebate that one would typically receive, which is a check, check card or some form of cash paymentIn addition, it still is odd to me that the promotion was not sent to me because my address was outside their mailing boundariesI would have thought for this special promo they would have made an exception
I do not want to pursue receiving a $payment any further, as I am ready to move onI would, however, encourage The Majestic Star to clearly delineate on their website and at their casino that the $rebate is in the form of slot play (or some other sort of credit and not cash), as that is not what was communicated to me
