Review: Below is the exact text of the listing of a coin I purchased:

[redacted] Medal 1/20 Ounce Gold, [redacted]69

They sent me this coin in **68 grade, which would be sold for much cheaper than the $225 price I paid them for the **69 grade. When I emailed them to complain they called me to discuss, and when I requested a refund of $36 I never heard back from them. I called them today (January 17 2014) and they offered to give me a store credit or check for $25 which is *not* enough, another site had the exact coin they failed to get to me for $199 and they are effectively trying to sell me a lesser coin for the same amount after a $25 refund. They are guilty of false advertising and they are also guilty of trying to overcharge me for the coin they did send to me (that I didn't want), The CS rep I just spoke to would not allow me to explain the situations (I talked to someone else initially) and she didn't offer a return for a full refund when expressed my dissatisfaction with them.Desired Settlement: I want to return the coin for a full refund of $234.95, and I want them to pay the full shipping cost for the return. I also want a written apology for the poor service I received from them.

Hello,

We have already explained the error in the listing to the customer. The product image reflects the true product while title of the product was mistyped (**69 vs **68). We have already sent the customer a return label to return the coin for a full refund which he should have anytime. Thanks

Review: Hello, on 01/24/I bought several items from Goldeneaglecoin.comI had been buying from that business in the past and never have problemsHowever, this time I purchased items but most expensive items were missing from the parcelThe total cost of those missing items was $They were one gold 1oz bar, and platinum coins 1oz eachThe package looked like someone opened it and used transparent tape to hide the tamperingWhoever did this took most expensive items and left silver coins in the package possibly due to their low value and also, perhaps, to avoid leaving package far from the weight the package was registered withNow, please look at business's statement placed under FAQ shipping terms: "All packages are shipped via USPS insured mail and are insured for their FULL VALUEPackages under $are sent via First Class MailPackages from $- $are sent via Priority MailPackages of higher value will be sent Registered Mail." Of cause, when I opened a package and discovered that most valuable items are missing I called the businessYoung man who as he said was in charge of internet sales very coldly let me know that it's impossible that items were missing and that a thief would take all items not only It made sense only if a thief was an outsiderBut packages sent via Registered Mail are being tracked very meticulously, thus, a thief, perhaps, didn't want to risk taking in consideration that items he had stolen were most of the value of the parcelAs I said earlier, the value of stolen items was $4328.83, and the total value of the parcel was $That gentleman said that the business nothing can do about it and that I should deal with USPSSo, I initiated a claim with USPSThey review my claim and firstly sent me check for $The letter enclosed with the check also said that in case if I am not satisfied I should appealI did but USPS kept refusing to pay anymore than $and advised to contact USPS Consumer AdvocateI did that too and 06/30/I received a letter that stated the same as other communication with USPS saying that Goldeneaglecoin.com chose no additional insurance for this package as the Postal Service provides $automatic insurance for Priority Mail ExpressThe letter has stated that is has paid the limits of the amount of insurance covered which is $I find it truly misleading to customers who spend thousands on merchandise that according to business' statement that packages is fully insured and sent through USPSI pasted their statement aboveIt could be found under FAQ-shipping section of Goldeneaglecoin.com.Desired Settlement: Of cause, I will be happy to receive either missing items or refund in check or directly wired to my accountI will really appreciate your helpI have spent half a year communicating with USPS while aforementioned business saving money on properly insuring such expensive itemsI think businesses like that should be held accountable for misleading customersPlease feel free to contact me at ###-###-####You are my last hope to get my money or disappeared items

Hello, Please see below message to customer. Also his AOL mail is not accepting messages from us (see below AOL error message) so we have no way to communicate with him. Hopefully this message will get passed on through this system.--------------MESSAGE SENT TO CUSTOMER -----------[redacted],I received your complaint via Revdex.com today so I looked into the things you mentioned in your message. I now understand the situation fully. When you placed your order originally on Dec 17th you chose payment method “CHECK”. This payment method is the cheapest way to buy bullion and isn’t subject to any fees (3.2% for credit cards) which is why people normally choose it. At that point we are expecting your payment in the mail. We also ask for a credit card number to secure the price for you. As of 1/20/2015 we had not received payment which was due within 10 days. At that time we charged your credit card on file, applied the necessary payment fees (see revised invoice below) and mailed it to you.I can understand that this may seem confusing but is standard in the bullion industry. We in no way were changing your confirmed product pricing, simply using your backup payment method. If you’d like you could simply mail us the check as initially intended and we can credit the card in full. That would seem to be the best resolution to everything. Hope that helps shed some light on things. Hello,Thanks for your reply. I realize that online checkout processes can be confusing sometimes and we do strive to make ours as clear as possible. We also try to offer as many payment options as possible including:Check Via MailMoney OrderPaypal Credit CardBank Wire TransferThese are all offered during checkout and all pertinent information listed next to each method. Also listed are any transaction fees. I have attached a screenshot of what this looks like. Since "Check" is our most used payment method and incurs no fees it is listed first during checkout.I apologize that this was confusing during your shopping experience and we will continue to strive to improve our online ordering process.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted]. I feel it reflects their opinion and ethics and I desire no further action by Revdex.com or Golden Eagle Coins. My opinion and observations remain. I do not want Golden Eagle to contact me again for any reason. I remain convinced future buyers should be aware of a "common mistake" made by others
