I brought my 1908 Lady Liberty Barber Sterling Silver Dime Coin Ring into this shop to have the open band resized to fit for wear again. My father acquired the Art Nouveau Sterling Silver ring for my 16th birthday The face was artistically popped out to a full forward face cameo in a manner of skillful , had-forged repousse done from the back; ir was they were rare. The bqnd had become too small and opened up requiring repair so I kept it in jewelry box for at least a quarter century.

Having been at this jeweler before for change of insurance appraisals, I noticed that they displayed bought and sold coins and did jewelry repair so I thought this would be the perfect place to bring it in and have it resized so I can wear it again my father has since passed away and I miss him very much and it reminded me of him.

When I return to pick it up I was kind of in shock like to bring him to put in a vice grop And the beautiful face of the Sterling silver ring was machine flattened into a flat square,
Upon seeing the tear in my eye the nice lady who originally taken the ring in said give them some more time and they’ll try to recreate the face. The man who fixed the band came out admitting he spray painted it a matt finish and I thought who does that? It’s an antique coin and the woman tried telling me that it wasn’t a real coin but it was a real coin artfully repoussed. Kind of in shock I left it with them to see what they can do I have no idea what they can do re-create the face it have to be very skilled.

I went back after they called to pick it up yesterday and they had turned it into what looks like he might’ve been inside of a tin can. The coin’s edging marks were erased! Smoothed and buffed out into oblivion, some of the letters are warped, you can see where deep gouges from some type of mechanical hold, and it’s all one tin color - no antique coin anymore it’s just an abomination.

This was pristine ring in storage for many years and when I went in there to pick it up a hostile rude ignorant woman began insinuated that I brought it in like that. Take pictures of original pieces that you take in for repair if you don’t trust how it was or take responsibility for damage you have done. I wouldn’t even wear this right now it looks like it came out of a gumball machine it’s awful. The coin’s reeded edge lines have been rubbed off, detail of the wheat on her hair and crown are gone. They turned 100+ year antique Coin ring from mint condition into trash. They were only hired to repair the band. And they charged me for their distruction. This is utter incompetence by a business that is supposed to be specializing in doing what I hired them to do. How is this business going to fix this when the their employees so rude that I don’t even wanna step foot in their store again.
This business needs to be accountable for their damage done. If they don’t contact me I will take it up with the Better Business Bureau.

Over the years we have shopped in Clarksville, we have purchased several items of jewelry from Golden Eagle Their prices have always been fair, their merchandise is of the highest quality, and the people are very pleasant to deal with Recently, I decided to put some investment money in bulk silver, and went to the internet where I contacted all the silver dealers that advertise on TV, plus several others The standard price seems to be between $and $per ounce above spot price I stopped at Golden Eagle and checked, and they were LESS than $above spot, INCLUDING the sales tax! Outstanding people, and they are the ONLY jeweler I will deal with

My husband just bought me a *** charm from them for Christmas, unfortunately it did not fit my bracelet very good, it was larger than the others I have so I'm really not sure it was authentic Which honestly is not really the issue here, the issue is that when my husband went to return it he was told they did not offer refunds only store credit which they did not tell him when he purchased it Although it does say on their receipt "no cash refunds", it does not say "store credit only anywhere" So now I'm forced to spend my money at a place I'm not really happy with.....I really don't think that is very honest business practice and will not ever shop there and will tell everyone I know to be aware of their policy because If you buy something for your loved one and they don't like it - Golden Eagle will be the only happy customer!

In the two years since my initial review, we have been in to Golden Eagle several times Some large purchases, some small purchases, some repairs, some just shopping with no purchase at all One of the outstanding things about this jeweler is that you receive EXCELLENT treatment when you are there regardless of the reason for your visit I can only dream of what the world would be like if all businesses were operated with the same outstanding focus on customer relations as this one
