Our journey started by meeting Jeff Heeg at the Lake Home & Cabin Show in Madison, WI in January 2018. We were negotiating for an 80 acre wooded parcel near Norwalk WI that included a 25 acre pond. Among the exhibitors at the show, GE stood out because of the quality of workmanship and the ability to offer a turnkey building process.

By May 2018, we had closed on the land, signed a contract with GE and found a general contractor who is very familiar with the GE product and process. The design process was challenging for our family of six (grandparents, son, daughter-in-law and two granddaughters), but made easier and fun by choosing most options at the GE headquarters near Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Your staff were very helpful by listening closely to our ideas and then making suggestions to accomplish our goals. The final floor plans were detailed and specific enough to guide all sub-contractors in their roles.

One of the highlights of our cabin was the customized carving on the central beam, you offered as an option early in the design phase. We were able to work with the professional wood carver, who performed his art on the 10”x10” log before it was installed in the structure.

Materials were delivered in a timely fashion. We had no major issues with the quality of the whole logs and other building supplies for our 1874 s.f. cabin, including a loft and a full drive-under basement. Our only issue was the delivery and installation of the wrong loft railing. GE replaced this railing and covered the extra cost of our general contractor’s labor.

I have been working with Sandy ***, Derrick ***, and Justin *** from Golden Eagle Log & Timber Homes for several months now to design my dream cottage. I have 120+ year-old log cabin that I am having removed and replaced with a beautiful log home from this great company. We drove over four hours to meet with the team at their facilities in Wisconsin Rapids Wisconsin. I am so glad we made that trip as it gave me a chance to see everything first hand in making my choices and designs. They offer so many wonderful packages and choices for floorplans and designs to meet your personal needs and wants. Everyone there is so knowledgeable and enthusiastic and fun to work with. I went there with some plans and selections in mind and left there was with ones that I never even imagined. Something that I absolutely love was the fact that for every tree they harvest they plant three trees to replace it. I'm just so completely impressed with everything from start to finish with them. So if you are interested in any type of custom log home please call these great people and talk to them they are very impressive.!!!

Based on previous research, we were relatively certain that we were going with Golden Eagle Log and Timber Homes. After our visit to their facility, and visiting with Jan...there is no doubt. We expect to finalize a purchase in the next year-or-two. The customer service, and quality of workmanship is--in my opinion--unsurpassed in this industry.

My wife and I have been “planning” a log home for the last 20 years! We finally decided it was time to take the next step to making our dream a reality. After many hours on the internet searching plans, watching videos and researching different companies, We decided to go visit Golden Eagle Log Homes in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. We are so glad we did! This was a 690 mile trip one way and was worth the drive! We was greeted at the front door of their show home with our names on a sign welcoming us.(Nice touch) We met with our home consultant Jon W, who took us on a tour of their show home and then their Planning SUPER STORE! This place is amazing, you can pick out everything from Log size, stain color, Rock styles/color, bathroom fixtures etc… It makes all the difference when you can actually see/feel the choices you are making and not relying on a picture from a magazine!! We are currently working with Jon (Thanks Jon!) to design our dream home and hope to start building later this year! If you are up in the air about making the trip, don’t hesitate, you won’t be disappointed!

The staff and facility at Golden Eagle Log Homes provided me with the knowledge to make an informed decision relating to a timber frame, hybrid, or full log home. This is a solid, well managed organization that I would feel totally comfortable in recommending to anyone interested in purchasing a log or timber frame home.

We attended a factory tour and visited two customer homes. It was a great day, well worth our time and travel to attend. Everything that we saw reflected the amount of pride and passion that all of the people at Golden Eagle Homes have in their work.

These guys are just the best! I cannot say enough about how informative, helpful and thorough the support has been in my quest to design and build my custom log home. Seeing is believing, and I would encourage anyone with an interest in pursuing their "dream home" to visit the folks out there at Golden Eagle, or at least give them a call and speak to them about your plans. They have really got it together, and have made the process so much less daunting with their expertise, friendliness and genuine enthusiasm for answering all of my questions and concerns. We received expert technical and creative advice regarding our log cabin plans. It is an opportunity to educate yourself and see in person the colors and materials that you are selecting, as well as receive professional advice. GOLDEN EAGLE LOG HOMES: We've been in our log home for a little over a year now. This was built as a family retreat, but we love it so much that we're there more than we had originally planned! I can't say enough about the owners and employees; it was a thrill to travel from Texas to see the campus of Golden Eagle. Their attention to our project, including follow-up upon completion, has been outstanding. Theirs is a PR model for other businesses to strive for!
