Review: Purchased what was believed to be new equipment. Item was sealed in the box on the sales floor. Store representative directed me to which box. I walked to it, moved it from where it was from before representative offered a cart to help take it to the vehicle. The box was too large to fit so the rep suggested we open the box and leave the box behind so that the purchased item may fit. This was Thursday evening. Today I go to retrieve the contents from the vehicle and pull them out of what's left of the packaging (plastic) only to discover the item was used. The paint in the bars are chipped in connection points, paint on bars hard scuff markings along with some bars having dents with grass markings and more paints chips. The material portion of the item I didn't even pull out of the plastic due to disappointment. I've been a customer there for a couple of years and always had great communication with them. It's not cool to buy a new toy only for it to end up being used by someone else before. Even if it was a display model they should have let it be known before hand. I could have purchased a used model for less elsewhere had I wanted that. I wanted new, went to buy new, only to walk out with used and left for discovery today.Desired Settlement: I'd like to have what I went in to purchase. Not be duped or have to worry whether my equipment was previously opened, used or exchanged by someone else. I understand they run a business but it's a waste of my time and effort to go out of my way for such a blunder. Or was it my fault for selecting the box the representative instructed me to pick. I'd like be assured that was honest mistake and compensated for the inconvenience at the business expense instead of my own.

Response:
On 5/28/15 @ 4:40 PM PST [redacted] purchased an indoor hydroponic grow tent from our company. The customer personally loaded the item onto a cart and with an employees help, unboxed the item to fit into his smaller vehicle. Via [redacted] on 5/29/15 7:45 PM the customer then messaged us to let us know that his item purchased was in used condition. The store manager was notified via cell phone application, exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet with the customer on his personal time being that the store was no longer during business hours. @ 9:00 PM 5/29/15 [redacted] was met at the store location and received $160 as a refund for his $156.47 spent. Upon leaving the store with his refund, [redacted] then proposed that we allow him to setup a Vivint solar booth for a day inside our location to make it up too him. Upon opening back up for business on Monday 6/1/15, the vendor( Hydrofarm) of the item deemed used was contacted and our company has received a full refund.
