Golden Heating and Air did perform the work as explained by the consumer. Unfortunately our client still has a balance due of $1200.00 for the air conditioning portion of this system installation. We are unable to refund the amount requested until the balance for the installation is paid in full. We...

absolutely have no issue paying for any repairs that were caused by Golden Heating and Air. We would be happy to proceed with a refund once the balance owed has been received.

Complaint: [redacted]Golden Heating & Air (GH&A) claims that I do not communicate promptly. Please not I made this complaint on Feb 8th. It took GH&A 9 days (Feb 17) to respond to which I responded immediately (Feb 17). Then we waited over a month for GH&A to respond (Mar 21) to which I am again responding immediately. I think it is clear that I respond quickly and they do not.  When the furnaces were done, we paid 100%.  When the AC was done, [redacted] at GH&A knew of the damage and told me to deduct from the invoice. We listed & deducted for damages, marked the check full & final payment, GH&A accepted and cashed the check, so the AC is paid 100%. We informed GH&A of our problem in Oct and they did not offer to resolve by service call; they said the furnaces were fine; see response from GH&A. We did not use the furnaces when the install was complete as GH&A told us to NOT use them during the construction as the construction dust would damage them. The project was done in the summer and we used the furnaces in the fall. To clarify, CALIBRATE means to adjust or set the furnaces with the controls on the furnace including gas flow.  Through this problem caused by Golden H&A, I learned a lot about furnaces; furnaces are designed to heat the return air only a limited amount before sending it back into the space; if the furnace heats the air too much, the overheated air activates an auto safety shut-off switch. Per [redacted] [redacted], if a furnace is not calibrated/adjusted/set it will not run efficiently & fail prematurely. When an authorized & skilled technician (from another company) calibrated the furnaces, they would run continuously until the space was at the requested temperature -- original problem as presented to Golden H&A was solved. This process has nothing to do with the original temperature of the room as Golden H&A suggests.  The Golden H&A tech also installed the exhaust vents with leaks of harmful vapors into our interior space; I have pictures and the authorized tech that made the repairs has all the documentation. Golden Heating and Air DID NOT complete the job by adjusting the furnaces and owe the $287.00.  I doubt that Golden Heating & Air will pay for their error even though they were paid 100% for the job. I now recommend to always hire an HVAC company that is certified and authorized to install a manufacturer's equipment; these contractors can be found on the websites of each manufacturer.
