Review: [redacted], owner of Golden Pond Landscaping was recommended to us by our builder. We needed landscape and hardscape (pavers, flagstone, etc.)work done on our Stone Lake property. The original invoice for the work amounted to $60K plus tax, and we agreed to the work in April of 2015. We paid $10K prior to the start of work, then another $20K during the summer. We requested a plan for the work and a timeline for completion - neither of which were provided. We became increasingly irritated at the lack of progress on the jobsite, with weeks passing with no one showing up to complete the work. During the season of May to October 2015, several changes to the plan were implemented, none of which were documented. We received a bill for work completed in December that indicated that we now owed an additional $45K (sub-total as of December: $75K) for work completed, although we never received an itemized list of the changes nor the costs involved. We were surprised at the cost increase, and asked for the cost to finally complete the work - [redacted] sent an estimate for another $15K to finally complete the work. So ... there were cost over-runs to the tune of 43%, no plan, no timeline for completion and some work that needs to be redone to our satisfaction ... and overall we are very dissatisfied. We have attempted to negotiate some reasonable timing for completion, as we did not want to go through another Spring-Summer-Fall with less than useable property. All we get are overdue invoices that add on late payment charges, considering legal action.Desired Settlement: I want to be able to gain some control over this process - as of now, we only receive bills and have little to say about the completion of the work. This is far too costly to be a mistake, and I guess that the actions must be deliberate.
