Review: We bought a home from golden rule homes and have tried many times to get them to come and finish the job . They have not been here to complete the work and everytime we call them either he is off for the day or we get no response from them . Always same thing being said we will be there this week and still have not seen anybody out here . They have been paid for a job they will not come finish. Was told they would be here today and nobody showed up.Desired Settlement: We want them to finish our home so we can we into it.

The contractor who was hired to set and finish Mr. [redacted]'s home has been contacted regarding the remaining work that needs to be completed...yesterday was the first day that there had been an issue with someone not being on the job site...we are making every effort to get his home completed.

Review: I went to Golden Rule Homes and talked with [redacted] about purchasing a special-sized door for my home. I described to him the size of the door that I need. He said it needs to be paid in full up front in cash. I paid him $525.02 in cash, and he told me the door would be in the following week. The next day he called and said the door is in. When I went to pick up the door, it was not the door I thought I had ordered. When I asked about returning it he said there would be a 35% restocking fee plus shipping costs. He said I would be better off selling it privately.

I brought the door home and discovered it was too small. I called him back about returning it and he said I can bring it back but he can only give me $125.00 for the door.

In the meantime I had talked with several other people who said they had priced similar doors from a different business for around $335.00.

I asked [redacted] if he could give me the name and phone number of the company where he had ordered the door, because I felt that I was being ripped off. He said that he's not sure where the door came from or the name of the company. Later my wife called [redacted] and asked for the name and number of the place where he ordered the door. He said that he ordered from a supplier and he can't give her that information, and that they wouldn't talk with her anyway.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a full refund since the door was unusable because it was too small, plus it wasn't the door I thought I ordered.

The customer came to our business to “special order” a 32 X 74 door for his doublewide. I showed the customer a picture of the door, we agreed on a price and I explained the payment terms are cash only and that there are no refunds and no returns which I notated on his receipt (which I have attached in this email). The door was shipped to me and I contacted the customer to pick up the door, he came and picked it up and left. He came back later in the day and stated that the door didn’t fit but mostly it wasn’t what he expected and he had found doors selling for less than he agreed to pay me. I am not happy with [redacted]"s response because he didn't tell me the door wasn't returnable at the time I ordered it. He also did not write a receipt while I was there. The first receipt I saw is the one attached to your email. I don't think I will get any satisfaction from [redacted] (Golden Rule Homes) so I'm going to drop the matter. But I want people to know that Golden Rule Homes in [redacted] is NOT a good place to do business.
