Golden Sails Hotel

false advertising and predatory business practices of the Golden Sails Hotel, ***. On 3/9/2020 I reserved a room at the Golden Sails. I checked it out on several web sites and it appeared to be a good choice.I texted my son who lives in Los Alamitos and he advised me to cancel immediately because the hotel has a reputation for prostitution, drug dealing, gang activities and robberies of guests. About two hours after I made the booking I tried to cancel the reservation and was hit with an approximately *** cancelation fee. According to the small print, I had to cancel the reservation on 3/8, which is the day before I made the reservation.Please allow me to repeat: I made the reservation on Monday 3/9/2020 and wanted to cancel two hours later and was told I had to pay a *** cancellation fee because I did not cancel on Sunday 3/8/2020, which is the day before I made the reservation.Of course I would not have made the reservation in the first place had I known that this place had such a terrible reputation. The hotel, by the way, does not have a local number to call. All reservations are made though Expedia and other companies. I booked though Expedia and discovered that their attitude is buyer beware. The Chamber of Commerce should be aware that places like Golden Sails are a blot on the efforts you're are making to turn around the city's image. I'm sure this place rips off many people and families who visit the area's attractions in Orange County.and Long Beach.
