Review: I purchased 2006 ** Beetle, California DMV Temporary ID: [redacted] from Golden State Auto on 5/31/2016 for $6,969 w/65400 miles on board. The dealer assured me that this vehicle passed California DMV Vehicle Inspection Test, though no documentation was available! I purchased the vehicle after the dealer fixed a few visible problems and I drove the car to Reno, NV. I was told that my title will be mailed to me 1-2 weeks. Upon arriving in Reno, NV I made an attempt to register the car with Nevada DMV, but the vehicle failed both the smog test and DMV inspection.

I had no choice, but take the car to a garage to perform the repairs as required by Nevada DMV.

The required repairs included: re-inspect failed smog test, replace secondary Air Injection System and Air Tubes, replace windshield washer pump, strainer and gasket, remove lock lug nuts on ** wheals to allow for new tire installation and replace worn out tires (thread below allowed by law)

These repairs are documented and amounted to about $1,000 (about 15% of the car purchase value), but they had to be done, as they were required by Nevada DMV, to pass the test. The repairs were done by Sunshine Service,Sparks, NV and by Lithia **, Reno, NV. The biils for these repairs are available upon request. I called Golden State Auto and shared my frustration with [redacted], Finance Manager. I offered to return the car to the dealership and either get a refund or get the car repaired. Instead, Mr. [redacted] agreed to mail me a check for $150, a fraction of the cost of the repairs. I called again Mr. [redacted] on 6/16/16, to complain that I did not receive my car title and my check, as promised. As of today, 6/22/2016, I did not get either the title or the check and Golden State Auto is blocking my phone calls, not answering any of my messages. Since it sems that I no loger can contact this car dealership, I would appreciate your help in getting this issues resolved as soon as possible.

Hello [redacted] this is [redacted] with Golden state auto.inc regarding to complaint number [redacted] Mr [redacted] , we have sent a check #[redacted] with amount of 150$ to customer's address as we agreed , check was sent to customer address on 6/10/2016 and looks like it was cashed on 06/25/16 also title was sent to the same address. honestly we don't know the reason of customer's complaint ,since every effort has been done to reach customer's satisfaction. there is an attachment file include a copy of cashed check aswell

Review: Hello my name is [redacted] my complaint is that I purchased a service warranty from ALPHA Warranty service for a 2003 GMC Yukon Denali xl with Golden State auto inc 0n 07/24/2014. on 1/7/2015 their was an accident where the truck was totaled,at this point my Insurance paid the vehicle off and ALPHA warranty services,inc Return the balance of the the purchase of the warranty to the person that purchased it which was myself to Golden State Auto inc .I have spoken to the rep at ALPHA regarding this matter and the check went to Golden State Auto and Golden State auto was to return the check to me and all i'm getting from these people is a run around at first they claim the check was lost in the mail so I called ALPHA warranty inc they then put a stop payment on the 1st check and sent a second check which now they claim that they have not recived this is not the first time I have complained about this company.all I want from them is my money returned that is owed to me .the contract # is [redacted] there contact information is ###-###-#### for service contract for ALPHA warranty serviceDesired Settlement: I want the check that was Refund back to me from ALPHA Warranty. my insurance paid everything out and said that ALPHA warranty would refund my money for the warranty so now I want my money back my insurance refunded my deductible and said that APLPHA would refund the money they paid out to Nationwide west whom was the finance company for this Vehicle at the time.
