The owner responded via phone as follows: The company says they did do the caulking even after the consumer said her boyfriend does this for a living and she would take care of it. The consumer hasn't paid any of the bill. The company put siding on the garage. The windows were done two times. They only had to put metal around the windows and caulk. They did over $3,000 worth of work. At this time, the company is still willing to offer the consumer $700 off and she would then pay for the work that they did which is $2300. (This would be the window part at no cost as a good faith offer). The company wants to get paid for the siding on the garage and they will then take the lien off the property.

The company responded via phone as follows:   The company states it is in their contract that they are not responsible for concrete damage. They were never notified until almost a year later about the concrete.

Hi [redacted],Thank you for your help. I can accept the proposal, but I would like the following points in writing form Barbera:New invoice for the $2300 amount.A written statement that once the $2300 amount is paid, the lien will be removed within 30 days of payment being received.I will also submit this on the portal as well. Once I have those items, I will accept the proposal and get the check in the mail. Again, I greatly appreciate your help in this matter.

Business responded to complaint:Regarding complaint id [redacted]:The customer said she did not like our caulk job after we caulked the inside of the exterior window.  She said that she would caulk herself after she cleaned the old residue from caulking that a prior contractor did.  I did...

not hear back from her and after I called to inquire as to when she was going to remit payment (three weeks after job was completed), she told me that she did not have time to caulk the windows and that she wanted me to do it. Please note, she claims she did not like our caulk job but then asked us to caulk windows?? Now she does not wish to pay?? I did the caulk job myself.  I have over 30 years experience in my trade and did an excellent job. I even caulked the channel on her siding to prevent water leakage as one window had already rotted out. I always go above and beyond to please our customers. After this was done, she called and said that her boyfriend would do the caulking over for $150 per window.  Please note that the "trusted contractor" she refers to is actually her boyfriend.  She told me that if I did not give her the $150 per window, that she would tarnish my name with the Revdex.com and [redacted] which she has now lived up to her threat of defamation.I feel as if I am being scammed and will let my attorney handle this situation.Thank you.John BarberaBarbera Home Improvement5376 Ridge RoadParma OH 44129440-843-8987

Sorry for the delay, I have been out of town for a few weeks.  Thank you for getting back to me.  Here are some of the pictures I took of a few of the cement block panels.  In one you can see that it was from a very heavy object on the cement and not the bad winter.  I noticed this one the day after they left but, decided it was only one block. At that point I also noticed two other cement blocks that had the corners cracked but, they had a very fine line which expanded after the winter.  I attached one of the pictures.Once again, I have lived in this house since 1991 and I had no cracks in the cement before I had the roof done.  The driveway blocks were a little uneven but, not cracked.  The truck was at the side of the house which is where the cracked pavement is located.  The driveway is ~ 100 ft long and the garage is detached.  They did both the garage and house.  The truck was moved down the driveway while they cleared the drive and the front lawn.  When I paid the rest of my bill, I went to the truck at this location so, I know it was stopped there.I waited because, just the one piece of pavement looked bad.  I know go down the driveway and I saw 4 or 5 more blocks with hair line cracks which like a crack in a car windshield will just keep expanding an get uneven.  I am really not out to get money, I just want to make sure that this complaint stays on there record.  The owner stated that I did not call them.  Well, I can say the same to them!  I expected either a phone call from him or something to say that they checked out the driveway which they did not.Regards,  [redacted]

Business responded to complaint. We have received the above complaint from the Revdex.com regarding [redacted] Beauchamp.First, we have never once heard from the customer regarding any driveway issues.  To automatically go straight to the Revdex.com and bypass the company she has a complaint with does not seem...

the proper way to handle a situation.Second, her roof was completed almost a year ago.  We never heard any complaints until almost a year later?????There were no heavy trucks from our company on her driveway. She mentioned that her driveway worsened after winter. We live in Northeast Ohio. Most likely the cold and ice heaved up the ground and had an effect on her driveway. At any rate, we have a disclaimer on our contracts that were are not responsible for damage.Again, we find it odd that she would wait almost a year to contact us. And even then, she did not contact us. She contacted you.Thank you.John Barbera
