The response from [redacted] at Golden Treasurers Jewelers is completely unsatisfactory.  Of course my husband & I would take a lie detector test, if need be.  However, we are highly insulted by the inference that we are not telling the truth.  This leaves us with no other choice but to take this to legal authorities.  We had hoped that the Revdex.com would have been able to assist us in this matter.  We are elderly persons & feel we have been taken advantage of.

Dear [redacted],
I did not intentionally let this go beyond the 30 days for a response, and I thought I still had some time left.
I would request that you please include this response in your case:
This whole matter is greatly upsetting to me.  I have been associated with this store for over 25 years and I took it over when my friend, the previous owner [redacted]t, died from cancer about 5 years ago.
We have NEVER  lied or cheated anyone over all these years.  I didn't want to accuse this person of anything in my response, so I offered to take a lie detector test.
Unfortunately, there is no way to "resolve"  this directly, since we did not switch anything, nor would we ever do that.
We have had 100's of customers/clients  over the years who know that they can trust us completely because they know we maintain an honest business and we have relied on those repeat customers/clients to stay in business for all these years.
I don't really know all the facts regarding this situation, but I do know that we at Golden Treasures did not lie to or cheat anyone.
Thank you.

This whole matter is greatly upsetting to me.  I have been associated with this store for over 25 years and I took it over when my friend, the previous owner Steve Brunst, died from cancer about 5 years ago.

Review: I left 3 very old foreign coins, 2 to be put in a simple bezel made of sterling. I was told they would be done and check back twice and they were not. Now they have gone out of business and take my coins and I have no way of getting a hold of them or getting my coins back. I don't know where else to turn, this is very unprofessional.Desired Settlement: I want my coins back as soon as humanly possible.

Review: On September 9, 2014 I went to two jewelry stores to inquire about selling my diamond pendant and other gold jewelry. I spoke to the owner* at Store #1*. He was not interested because the diamond had a small crack. Store #2, Golden Treasures in Solana Beach, was interested. I spoke to the owner, [redacted], who said the crack was not important because of the size of the diamond was .90 to 1.00 karats. She took the pendant to a man in her back room to take the diamond out of the setting. When the man brought the diamond out of the back room [redacted] brought several other stones for size comparison. She stated her weigh machine wasn't working properly and she needed to get another one from a man who lived in San Diego who had just been released from the hospital. I asked her if she could see the crack. She said yes and that it would not be a problem because on a 1 karat diamond it could be ground out. I asked if it would make the diamond worth less and she said no. She said a 1 karat diamond she would buy for $1500. She asked if I could leave it there so she could weigh it because she wanted to be sure it was not over 1 Karat since then it would be worth more. She needed to get another weigh machine. I left the diamond with her. She put it into a brown jeweler's envelope and detached the top of the envelope to give me the receipt which stated 1 diamond - approximately .90-1.00. I have attached a copy of my receipt to this complaint.

When I didn't hear from her I went to the store on 9/12/14 to ask if she got the weigh machine. She said no, but she would get it and call me . Later on 9/12 I received a message on my home answering machine that she wanted me to come in to see her. I went to the store on Saturday 9/13. She immediately came over and told me it was not a diamond, but a Zircon or some other type of stone. I was shocked to hear this as she told me it was a diamond with a small crack on the first day I met with her. This is what the first jeweler* had said also. I told her I was going to take it to a third jeweler*. She said, after I told her the name, that she had a problem with the third jewelry store* in the past.

I left with my "diamond" and proceeded to the third jewelry store*. The jeweler* there told me that he could see with the naked eye that it was not a diamond.

On Monday 9/15/14 I returned to the first jewelry store*. The owner's sons were in the store. They looked at the stone and said it was almost a 2 Karat Zircon and there was no crack.

On Friday, 9/19 I went to Golden Treasures with a friend*, who told [redacted] that she was recording our conversation. I asked [redacted] if she would like to speak privately as there was another customer in the store at that time. She said "No, but I guess you want to accuse me of something." I told her I believed she had switched my diamond for a Zircon. She denied it and told us "Get out of my store". She said she had a recording machine in the store and said that she had told me it was a 1.7 Karat Zircon when I was there Saturday. Again she said "Get out of my store". We left.

On 9/24/14 I went back to jeweler #1* and spoke to the owner again. He said he remembered me and the diamond with a small crack. He said that it was a diamond.

*All names and addresses can be provided upon request.Desired Settlement: I would like to be paid $1500. or return my diamond. I have an original receipt from Golden Treasures that states I left with them a diamond .90-1.00 Karats.
