Review: Gold's Gym refused to honor a clause in the contract that stated clearly I would be allowed to leave the agreement if I moved more than 30 miles away from the gym. I now live almost 1000 miles away, and Matt (the owner of Gold's) has continued to charge my debit card monthly, despite my monthly petitions that they not do so.This is aside from the fact that in the basement (a public exercise area) the air is full of mold spores, the walls have holes in them, and I have seen bugs as big as my thumb crawling around. Probably a health hazard.

I have already filed stop payments with my bank, and they have refunded the charges since the time of my initial contact with [redacted], pending 'an investigation'. If Gold's is difficult with them, I imagine my refund would be reverted, in which case I would be seeking a refund through your agency.

Mr. [redacted] has been notified many times that in order to cancel his two year contract that he signed we need proof of an address change. He refuses to mail in any type of information showing that he has relocated. We offered to accept any piece of mail with his new address or even the address change form from the post office. The terms in conditions of his contract clearly state that proof of the address change is required as well as a written notice to cancel his membership. Mr. [redacted] refuses to do either. We have offered to send him a copy of the clause to clarify for him what his options are, but he will provide no such address to send it to.

Our facility went through a mandatory health inspection on February 25, 2013 and passes with a perfect score of 100. Bi annually the health inspector comes to the facility at random to make sure we are operating under conditions that are sanitary for our members. Our health club license would not be renewed if we were not up to par.

Gold's Gym has decided to cancel Mr. [redacted]'s membership effective 3/25/13 of his last billing date. We have decided it is in our best interest to allow Mr. [redacted] to violate the terms of his contract and move on from the matter.

I am honored to have received correspondence from Gold's, though somewhat disappointed that I had to file a Revdex.com complaint to do so. Despite some erroneous statements in their response, if they'll stop taking my money, I don't see a need to take this any further.
