My name is Laslo I.and I am writing to you about Gold's Gym dirty business...I signed up for a membership with Gold's gym sometime in JUNE 2015....Shortly after that I realized I should give it a try with The CampTransformation Center in Newbury Park, business that has been very successful in getting people stronger and motivated...I went back to GOLD'SD GYM and told a trainer by the name of Sean about this...he told me he cannot cancel my account as they have a policy that u should be a member for at least 2 months to be able to cancel it after that...I said OK so be it...This was only a verbal agreement,we didn't put down anything in writing...
After a few more months I noticed that my bank account was still being charged $44/month....This was in November...so did the same thing went back to the gym and talked to that trainer again,he told me he didn't cancel my account becausd I never went back to the gym....Then apparently he finally canceled my account on November 27,2015....I asked him how about being refunded wih the amount of money that I have been charged starting June 2015...His answer was "I cannot do that...Why didn't you come back as U said?"My reply to that was that I couldn't...then he replied again "I could refund you with the membership fee for 1 month"....I haven't got refunded with anything so far,on top of it I got charged again a $29 fee I have no idea for what on Nov 27/2015 and again on November 30 the $44 monthly fee...
So please take care of this issue ASAP and let me know the results...

Worst customer service ever- plenty of nice gyms in the area, Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

Horrible gym, good equipment worst customer service I have ever seen.Just moved to the erea and one of the (high school kids) running the place, told me they couldn't honor a groupon (for this location) due to my i.d. having an address that is a 30 min drive from there! Not even joking here...I have recent mail to my new address (i just moved) and apparently this was unacceptable. Even though I paid for my membership :) go to Anytime fitness in Newbury park- awesome customer service, clean and nice. Much better than gold's.

Review: I signed up for Gold's Gym on 7/28/14, And I was talked into a "personal training" from one of the trainers. Gold's offers a complimentary session in which you get weighed, and your BMI taken. After a couple minutes, he starts trying to talk me into getting training. I explained to him that I could not afford it. He finally talked me into having a one session per month in which he would go over a nutrition plan for the month for $41 a month. However, I had to sign up for 6 months of this plan. He charged me for this on 7/31/14( not complimentary) and sent me a nutrition plan which was minimal.I was assured he would set up sessions. This was the 1st and only nutrition meal I received for the duration of 7 months. Not only was I charged over the 6 months, but the trainer never called/emailedbor followed through which is apart of their service. When I called I was also told that he had quit, and it's concerning that no one else followed through. Because this is fraud. And I am sure I am not the only person this has happened to. I decided to cancel my membership 1/7/15.I was told I couldn't get out of the personal training contract, even though no on was following through. I was offered to begin again, but at that point I wanted nothing to do with this gym.I had to pay a cancellation fee, which is normal. I was told that I would also no longer be paying this personal training I never received. Yet, I still am being charged for this $41 personal training, I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED, even though I no longer have a membership.I was told that I signed a contract and that there was nothing to be done. Then I find out this month 2/23/15 that unless I had a written statement, I could not be let out of the contract even after the 6 months. Although I had called multiple times and written an email. This is fraud, I am paying for a service that was never performed. And everyone at the company could care less, or even give me information on how to help. The customer service is terrible and dissappointing.Desired Settlement: I would like to be refunded for the services I never received. The manager said that if I choose to sign up with the gym again " they can see" about letting me use my 7 half hour sessions I paid for but never received. Why would I ever want to step foot back into the gym? I would like to receive the $284. I may have signed a contract, but they didn't follow through on their end. I did not receive a session for 7 mths. I feel entitled to a service I paid for, but did not receive.

Review: On August 11, 2013, I received a phone call offering to renew my training sessions with this gym. Since I was eager to get off the phone because I was tired & sleepy, I agreed. The service/session has not commenced at all. Then I decided I don't want the session anymore. I personally asked the assistant manager, but was told that it was only the manager who can cancel it. I called for 4 days and was promised that the manager will call me back, but never did. Today, an employee FINALLY talked to me and I was told that they can not give a refund because there was only supposed to be a 5-day cancellation window from the time the session was agreed upon, which I was NEVER informed. I explained that as a consumer, I paid for a service that was never provided and I deserve to have a refund, but was told flat-out that he can not do anything about it, and I should come in and use up the sessions, which I am now finding hard to make the time between my work & personal life.Desired Settlement: I would like to have a refund of the charges that was made to my credit card because the service/session was NEVER provided by this business establishment.

Review: Membership cancelled in December 2013 and as of 8/8/2014 still taking money out of my account. Multiple contacts either ignored or told will be fixed, but never fixed.Desired Settlement: Cancel membership, refund all money taken since January 2014

Review: Misrepresentation-Bait and switch-told to cancel silver sneakers program with Anthem Blue Cross which was free membership for gym ($44.00 per month for Anthem). Gym said they would only charge $39.00 if I cancelled Anthem which is 100% free membership. However Golds Gym failed to tell me there was an initiation fee of $59 and a $21 use feethen $39.99 per month. All papers signed on machine no copies were given-then they charge whatever they want on your credit card and do not explain-Be Careful these people are cheatersDesired Settlement: Cancel credit card charges that were fraud-Be honest with new members and give receipts of contracts signedwhich you are not able to view.
