Review: In August 2013, we contacted Golightly Plumbing to come out and check our well water which was running muddy. [redacted] came out, and said to keep the water from being muddy in the future, he recommended a back flush water treatment appliance that would be installed underneath our house next to our well water holding tank, and it would also keep us from having to replace our whole house water filter that we were replacing every month. He said this equipment would work so well that we probably would not have to replace the whole house water filter but about 4 times a year. This equipment was medium sized and had to be set in the ground and the total we paid him was $1600, which included the equipment and the installation. A few days after installation, we called [redacted] and told him that the equipment was so noisy that it woke us up at night and that it vibrated the floor of the house really bad. He came out and adjusted the equipment for us. In September, we noticed that our whole house water filter was so dark that we replaced it after 15 days and in October we had to replace two water filters that month. The first of November 2013, we called [redacted] and told him that the equipment was not working and for him to come and remove it. We got no response. In December he called and said that he could replace it and we said no that we had disconnected it and it was not working any longer and to come and remove it. We emailed [redacted] from January 2014, to August 2014, we sent emails to [redacted] once a month with absolutely no response from him. In August 2014, we started emailing him every week with no response until the first part of September and he emailed us that we would call and come out to remove the equipment. We did not hear from him until late September when we made a phone call to his home and firmly said for him to come and remove the equipment. We received a telephone call that said someone would be out the next week and no one came, so we called his home again and an employee came the next day and removed the equipment while we assisted him in the removal of the equipment; he put everything back like it was and took the equipment with him. We emailed [redacted] in October asking that he at least give us one half of the money we spent on equipment that did not work - $850.03. He emailed a reply on October 25, 2014, that he would be glad to refund that amount and would send us a check. When we did not get the check by October 31, 2014, we sent him an email telling him we would give until November 14, 2014 to send us the $850.03 or we would contact an attorney. On November 16, 2014, since we did not receive a check from [redacted], we send him a letter and forwarded a copy to an attorney. We still have not heard from [redacted]. This is not acceptable at all. We have copies of all of the emails we sent to him and his response.Desired Settlement: We feel that we deserve at least the refund of $850.03, because the equipment he sold us and installed did not perform as promised and due to the fact that it took us 12 months to get any response from Golightly Plumbing. And also due to the fact that in an email to us, he said he state that he owed us the refund and would get a check to us right away - that was October 25, 2014.
