The entire repair process including the quote, timeframe, and explanation of repair were a nightmare.On Sunday [redacted] our vehicle tension pulley belt bolt broke off inside frame. We called Golys to tow to their shop for repair. On Monday [redacted] they called and stated that they could drill out old bolt and rethread in about and hour but they couldn't guarantee it would work and that they had to order a bracket overnight from [redacted] for our 1999 [redacted] to make a proper repair. Mechanic stated the job would be just under 400.00 including the 75.00 tow bill. On Tuesday the part still hadn't made it and no one had tracking info and would call us when part came. On Wednesday still no part or ETA on arrival.Shop states they are waiting on guy from junk yard with used one that will save us some money. Business closed at 5 and no phone call with ETA on repair. On Thursday we call. Mechanic states hr couldn't use bracket because other modifications would need to be done. He had taken broken bolt out and rethreaded and was about to put back together and they would call with the final bill amount. Bill was 603.00 over 200.00 more from the original quote. When asked why it was so high they state it took over 7 hours to fix. Mechanic also stated they broke an AC line during the repair and charged us about 120.00 for a recharge. They never called us to authorize this. The AC never worked in this truck from the time we purchased it. They were shady from the beginning to the end.Desired SettlementWe would like the AC recharge fee and the labor for that process refunded atleast. We felt like that charge was not warranted. We would have declined having it done as the AC never worked for the beginning. Seven hours labor for about a two hour job. Not a great business practice. We [redacted] never use this shop again.Business Response 3rd sentence in there words. we coulden't guarantee that we could drill it out in an hour. we orderd the bracket form [redacted] that it needed just in case. they sent the wrong part. we tried to get one from a junk yard and to the same effect wrong part. so in that time frame we ended up pulling of the bracket off the customers truck for the fact we could't drill it out in chassie. now in order to pull this part out one must dissasemble most of the front of the motor and when we said we had to brake the line in the a/c I explained that it ment that we had to drain the system and pull the lines going to the a/c pump which had to be removed to get at the bracket with the broken bolt. now weather or not the a/c worked was not that much of an issue for the fact you have to replace what you took out because its not healthy for the a/c pump to run empty weather it works or not. during this prosses I had many calls to both [redacted] and her boyfrend/husband/guy frend? trying to keep them up to speed. and an estimate is just that an estimate. I did have over 7 hrs into the truck but I only charged for 5 which is a $130.00 discount right off the bat and I have the r.o. to prove that. if they would like to pay the full amount of labor hours I put into the truck I [redacted] gladly refund the a/c recharge charge.
