Review: Good Guys left tile grout partially sealed or unsealed. Did not complete the job as agreed and paid for.

Hired Good Guys to clean and seal tan colored grout. Cleaning was acceptable, but the water based sealer they used left white powdery appearance in many areas after applying with grout wand and getting the sealer too thick. Also left many sealer drip marks on tile. Good Guys did return to strip the sealer and then said they would try another sealer. [redacted] did return to test the same sealer on a small area and it left white powdery appearance again. [redacted] since stepped down and Good Guys never returned to reseal my tile grout with a different sealer. I did call and request the job to be finished with the new manager named Guy. Guy did return my call, but no action was taken and no follow-up occurred.

I hired someone else to finish the job. He told me the sealer was about 90% removed, but he still scrubbed some white areas and then applied a non-water based penetrating sealer by hand and wiping with rags. The tile and grout look good now.

My grout is polyblend sanded grout which is very common in this area. I am not sure how good guys, who are apparently experienced in cleaning and sealing grout, could not know sealer drips would show on the tile and sealer applied too thick will look opaque.Desired Settlement: I am requesting a refund of the sealer portion of the payment which was .20 per square foot. I cannot find the invoice but it was at least 700 square feet, so $140.

Review: I needed carpet cleaned at my house for two rooms. I was told that the fee for two rooms fell below the minimum charge of $125, so, I agreed to the minimum. When he arrived ([redacted]), he informed my wife that the rooms were larger than he anticipated and would need to charge us for 4 rooms which would be $179. This incremental charge neglected to honor a [redacted] deal that he advertised of $25 for $50 worth of work.

The owner indicated that his website clearly advertised a square footage limit per room and that this was the basis for the additional charge. This was never mentioned to me over the phone and since I found him on [redacted] I didn't think I would need to visit his website to read any fine print. We also had a very direct conversation about how I wouldn't be charged for anything beyond the minimum since it was only 2 rooms.

He took advantage of the fact that I wasn't home and that my wife was on a conference call for work and indicated that we owed $179. Since I wasn't home, my wife paid him this amount and when I learned what happened, I was horrified since he told me very clearly, the maximum charge would be $125. This is classic bait and switch and needs to be addressed. My guess is that several people have been duped by his false advertising.

I'm further upset because he's done work in my neighborhood and would have known the size of the rooms when discussing his services. He can't plead ignorance here and clearly had the intention all along of increasing the price.Desired Settlement: I would like any funds that were paid to [redacted] in excess of the $125 minimum charge that we agreed to returned to me in cash (so that he can't cancel a check).
