[redacted] and his wife came in looking to purchase a dryer on 8/12/2015. He told the service manager that their old dryer made noise as it ran and that it was an old Frigidaire. Service manager told him that it may be a cheap fix, based on what they said. Bearing kits for those dryers are only...

$30. So they agreed to have a tech come out and take a look. No quotes or promises were made, as they never are. They were informed that including tax the service call would cost $69.50, if it was deemed too expensive to fix they can come back and we'll take $30 off of their purchase price of a new one.Service tech arrived at their residence at 9:40am on 8/17/2015 and was greeted by Mrs. [redacted] who took him to the basement and showed him where the dryer was located. She proceeded to go upstairs. The tech took the front panel off of the dryer and inspected it. He listed the parts needed as: belt, tension pulley, rear bearing kit and thermal cutoffs. He also researched his Frigidaire manual and found their model was listed among a few that were considered hazardous due to a tendency to build up lint on the interior and causing fires. He called Mrs. [redacted] back down and explained the fire hazard situation and told her the list of parts and gave her a verbal estimate of what the repairs would cost. She agreed it was going to cost too much and decided to not have it fixed. She signed the workorder and paid the service call without incident. On his way out of the home the tech ran into Mr [redacted] and explained everything to him. He agreed it wasnt worth putting money into especially if it was a fire hazard. The next day, 8/18/2015 Mr [redacted] came into the store and proceeded to make a scene screaming that we took advantage of his wife and began to physically intimidate the service manager who was shorter and smaller by pressing his body up against the service manager. So the manager went behind the counter and sat down and tried to talk to Mr [redacted]. He tried saying that the tech never looked at the dryer. Then he stated that the tech was only there for 5 minutes and wouldnt even open the door on the dryer. Then he stated that the tech didnt take any tools into the home. At that point the service manager told him he would have to talk to the owner.Mr [redacted] came back in on 8/23/2015 and I was on the phone at the time. After I got off the phone I asked how I could help him. He stated that we have a problem and that I owe him for taking advantage of his wife. Then he stated that he never wanted or agreed to have a service tech come out. So I asked him how and why did he come in to purchase a product and leave without one and yet we ended up with his name, address, phone number, make of the dryer and a description of the problem if he never agreed to it. He then stated that he was scammed. I stated that they sat at home without a working dryer for 5 days waiting on a service call that they were scammed into? They could have cancelled it at any time. He then stated that money was tight and he thought it could be fixed cheaply. But he didnt want to pay for a service call if he wasnt going to be able to fix the dryer. I then stated that theres no other way to get an estimate and come to a conclusion of its value without having the service call and paying for it. I asked him if I should do all my initial service calls for free for people and he said yes. I then informed him that Im not independently wealthy and somebody has to pay the tech for his time. Mr [redacted] then switched gears and stated that the tech never took tools into the house with him. Then he said that he was only there for two minutes and that his wife watched the tech the whole time. Mr [redacted] then went on a screaming tirade and came back to the service call and stated that the tech was only there for 10 minutes. I stated that I track my vehicles and the tech writes his time in and out on the service workorder and both match up that he was there for 20 minutes.Mr [redacted] then began to threaten that if I didnt give him his money back that he would stand outside and tell everyone not to shop here. I stated that I would have him sited for disturbance. Then he threatened that he would go to the Revdex.com and the AG if he didnt get his money back. I told him again, that if he had a legitimate complaint that I would be happy to make it right. However, agreeing to a have a service, paying for the service, then deciding that the $69.50 is a waste of money isnt a legitimate reason. Had he came in and been honest and stated that they dont have money to pay their bills upfront, I would have put the entire bill towards a new dryer. But coming in and getting physical with someone smaller than him, screaming to get his way, making threats to get his way, continually changing his story and lying and expecting me to cower to him is not a path that ends with a refund. This is a simple case of buyers remorse. Our policy has always been that the customer is the most important part of our business. However, some customers simply want something for nothing. We still stand by the fact that if he wants to purchase a new dryer, he can still get $30 of his service call back.

This store is no longer open. I drove from Kittanning to Natrona Heights just to see a sign on the door saying that they closed back in April 2016. I was always happy with the deals that I got there in the past. In fact, I think that's where I have bought all my appliances for the last 30 years. It would be nice if they would take down their web site. All their appliances are still listed online but they are closed. I hope this saves somebody else the trip to a closed business.

Review: Purchased refrigerator and stove in November from this company. Icemaker installed on fridge stopped working after a week. Placed over 20 calls since then. 1 service call replaced valve and icemaker, still didnt work. Unit leaked and ruined my Pergo floor. Wont return my calls, messages, and pleas to pick up the fridge and refund me or pay me to repair my floor. I am stuck with the fridge that wont work and a ruined floor. Owner Mark C[redacted] will not return my messages to the company. I feel I have been had.Desired Settlement: Pick up fridge, pay to repair my floor. I will use the refund to buy the refrigerator from a reputable business. I have called a total of 30 times for resolution, and the company has had 2 months to make it right. I want to just be done with them.

Review: when shopping for a dryer and the salesman told us they do repairs also and he could tell from our description that they could easily fix our dryer. We made an appointment for a repairman. The repairman spent less than 10 minutes in our home, turned the dryer on, then off. Did not take anything apart. Said the dryer was not worth fixing, too many thing were wrong with it, charged $69.50 for the call, and said we could go back to the store and half of the fee just paid would go towards the purchase of a new dryer. Feeling scammed I went back to the store and demanded our $69.50 back because the man didn't even take the dryer apart. The manager said the repairman read error codes on the machine. This machine does not show any codes. Machine must be taken apart. They would not return my money and deposited my check.Desired Settlement: If repairmen go to the customer's home, he should take the machine apart to identify the problem, show the problem to the customer, and let them decide if they want it repaired or if they wish to purchase a new machine.

Review: I need some help in getting a small business to follow through in fixing my appliances. This has been going on since May of this year. I have put out just over $500 and we keep getting the run around from this store. I have spoken to a couple of people at the store, expressed my desire to get the appliances fixed and that it has been almost 6 months with the holidays looming. I have spoken to the wife of the owner of the store, she promised me some resolution (this was on October 15th). I thought it was coming when she had her husband the owner come to our house to examine the exact problems with the pieces (October 19th). I had just contacted the store just now and the manager and asked to speak directly to the owner and when he heard it was me, he said he did not know if the owner was in and then he put me on hold. When the manager gets back on the phone, of course the owner isn’t in and his wife will not be in until 10:30 tomorrow. I have been calling these people since they left my house on May 26, 2015 to get answers as to why my appliance(s) are not fixed!Desired Settlement: I am looking for finish the job and refund if possible. SOME kind of customer service would be very much appreciated. I have had issues for months and no one has ever called to see if their work was successful! They just come and replace something in the units in minutes, take my money and leave and we never hear from them again!

I have a mulitiple page list of my interactions with this business. I would suggest anyone who wants appliances fixed, NOT to call on this store. It's employees and well as owners are very very unreliable and will keep taking your money and never actually fix your appliances, nor give you any sort of customer service.
