Good Life Moving Services Reviews (%countItem)

On June 29th, three movers with Good Life Movers arrived as per the contract to move items in from one apartment to another. During the move, a clear glass floor lamp was picked up, wrapped and placed in their truck to be moved. When I noticed that the lamp was gone I asked the mover about the lamp, since it was not included on the list of items to be moved, and I was told not to worry about it since it was already on the truck. Furthermore, the mover informed me that it was not out of the ordinary to move a few items that were not on the list as long it wasn’t anything that would impact the cost of the move such as another room. Since then, I have had to call Good Life Movers regarding scratches on my furniture that have been fixed as of July 25th. On July 26th, as I am still unpacking and getting settled I tried to turn my floor lamp on and it no longer works. It worked just fine prior to the move. The movers were late coming to do the move, it took about a month for my furniture to get fixed and now I have a lamp that doesn’t work. I reached out to Good Life Movers only to be told that it’s not their problem. The movers were clearly not in the mood to get my forget you moved and made some of the most inappropriate comments. While this moving company quotes are more than reasonable I would have preferred to pay for professionalism.

Please see attachments regarding Ms. claim. In the attachments Ms. stated through email, she did not want the lamp in which she is making a claim against, in addition, there are no pictures or request there of that included her lamp, which according to Ms. has mechanical not physical damage, the integrity of the lamp and its mechanical ability are not within the scope of moving company's responsibility due to the lack of license in electronics and more importantly scope of work. All electrical items are recommended to be unplugged and ready for move, which hinders the ability to know whether the item is functional beforehand. Also it was not in the original complaint from the client nor quoted as a part of the move, even the requested cost has somehow changed from what she emailed to us as value has increased by her opinion of an additional 100 dollars. All other claims have been rectified to client's satisfaction, however it is unreasonable for the case of the lamp. We have tried settling with Ms. at $1/lb however it has been unacceptable by the client, even though it was never listed as a part of her inventory.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

They broke my lamp and need to be held accountable for it. I did not ask any of the movers to touch my lamp. The same mover that thought it was ok to make inappropriate sexual comments, took my lamp, put on the truck and told me that it was ok to move my lamp although it was not on my itemized list. The pictures addressed the damages immediately seen. The lamp does not have physical damage, it just no longer works after having been moved by this company. So either I get a new lamp or my gets fixed. I’m not sure what this response is supposed to mean.

Regards
