The business's response is inaccurate and includes many discrepancies.
The response from the company contains many errors.
1) I did not call them to perform the work.  Their crew was in the neighborhood going door-to-door to solicit business.  This was February 10, 2016.
2) The contract stated that they would "get dead wood and thin out maple tree" for $500 - not $400. They also trimmed some crepe myrtle bushes for an additional $100.  I paid them $600 cash.
3) When the leaves began to appear, it was obvious that not all of the dead limbs had been removed.  I called (in March) and asked them to return and remove the dead limbs and was told that they would.
4) I recommended the company to my backyard neighbor who needed a large crepe myrtle trimmed.  When they were performing that job, the crew came over and removed two small limbs, and told my wife that they couldn't complete the job because it was done by a different crew.  Crew chief (Jimmy) said he would contact the other crew chief (Ben) and that he would be back to finish the job.
5) I called numerous times and left numerous messages on the answering machine, but was never contacted by anyone in the company.
6) The tree has not "declined further".   7) If anyone came out a third time, I was not aware of it.  I haven't seen or talked to anyone from the company.

a month later and said that two more dead limbs needed to be removed. He came back out, and the customer was not there, but his wife showed the guys where the limbs were. The customer then called back again and said more of the tree was dead and he wanted those parts removed. When the company came back out the third time, they realized at this point that half the tree was dead on the left side. He said that they had previously told the customer that the tree was in the process of dying and needed to be removed. He also said that by this time, the additional work the customer was asking for was beyond the scope of what they charged at the initial time of service, because more of the tree was affected. He said that they have completed the work that was agreed upon and paid for, but the tree has since declined further, and the customer needs to pay to have it removed, but wants the initial $400 he was charged to cover that, and the business is unable to do that.

Review: This tree service came to my door and asked about work on a large maple tree in my back yard. They said they would remove and haul away the dead wood in the tree. This was February 10, 2016. The leaves were not out on the tree yet but dead limbs were obvious. I had recently had knee replacement surgery and could not walk around much out in the yard. I assumed they removed all the dead wood. They were paid $500.00 for about thirty minutes work. The crew leaders name was Ben. When the new growth came out it was obvious they did not do as they had said. I called and was told they would return and finish the job. They came back, but it was a different crew. The crew leaders name was Jimmy. When they realized how much dead wood needed to be removed, they said that the initial crew would have to come back out and take care of it. They never came back and after many calls and no answer I finally asked that the owner William S[redacted] call me but he never did. My last message I told them not to come on my property and I was going to next report this to the Revdex.com. I now have to pay another company to do the job that they were paid to do.Desired Settlement: I want a refund so I can put that money with a reputable tree service to do the job right.
