I initially thought I would like this company. Boy was I wrong. I took my car to replace the serpentine belt and ended up throwing a rod and now my car is junk. They said the tension pulley needed to be replaced. I also had the timing belt and water pump changed out. I was excited when I picked it up. A few days later I noticed that the belt was squeaking so I took it back to see what was wrong. Turned out one of the mechanics put the tension pulley on backwards and it was eating up the belt. They told me that I would have to use the parts they purchase but the ended up using a belt I had in my car that they wouldn't use the first time. They didn't give me credit for it either. The damage to the old pulley was so bad that it had to be replaced again. I got it back thinking all was good and a few days later the car started to overheat. Turns out the new water pump siezed. The shop said that always happened. Spoke to another mechanic at a different shop and found out that the initial repair was the reason the water pump froze. So they replaced it. They also said they did an oil change. I noticed that it still wasn't running well so I took it back. They said I needed to replace some inline fuel regulator. When they finished that they said they didn't want to drive it because the brakes weren't working right. I did not have problems with my brakes before and now all of the sudden I needed a new brake booster and it would cost me another $500 to fix. That is when I stopped. I had another mechanic fix it for $200. The two days later the engine threw a rod. Turns out when the shop replaced a gasket and changed the oil they didn't put oil back and after spending more than $2500 over a period of less than 5 months and having the opportunity to drive it less than 100 miles, I no longer have a car... You don't want to go here to fix your car. It's an exercise in futility and an expensive lesson.
They quoted me around $1000 for a new battery for my Civic hybrid. Instead, they "refurbished" my old one for more than the cost of a new battery from the dealership ($3k). The battery has been breaking down consistently since their "repair", and other things have started going wrong with my car that I've never had to worry about in the years I've had the car before seeing them. Then they told me they weren't going to honor my warranty, and wanted to charge me to fix my battery again after the third or fourth time it broke (three months into the year warranty). They have refused to work with me or give any money back.
I found Good Works Auto Repair after they were recommended to me. Since then, I have taken all of my vehicles, my kids vehicles and recommended Good Works to many fiends. Their work is outstanding, even if I don't want to hear it. I can rely on getting the job done on time and they do exactly want they quote. GREAT EXPERIENCES. I will always take my vehicles there to get repaired.
My daughter lives in Tempe, and while visiting, her air conditioning failed, we went to Goodworks Auto. The staff is professional, efficient, knowlegeable, and extremely friendly. Jeep was fixed the next day, everything explained. I would recommend this repair shop to anyone. I live in NY and do not trust many repair shops, this one is honest and fair.
