Goodding Performance & Ultimate Coatings

I wouldn't recommend Goodding Performance/Ultimate Coatings to ANYONE after my last experience with them. The term [redacted] fits them well. Absolutely horrible customer service and a [redacted] sandblasting job. [redacted] was more concerned with protecting his shop's garbage workmanship, than with losing me as a customer. I took a set of wheels to them for sandblasting and was quoted 2-5 days on the turn around. To start off, they called me on the 6th day informing me that they had started on them and the wheels were taking longer than normal to blast because they were powdercoated by the manufacturer. I told them to proceed and call me when they were "done". After no calls, I called around 4pm on the 8th day to ask if they were done. He said "yeah they are done but we didn't have a phone number on record to call you" Hmm. That was my first red flag considering I remember him writing my info down when I dropped them off...not to mention them calling me on the 6th day. I get to the shop and immediately he wants me to swipe my card and pay. Nope. I wanted to see the wheels first and good thing I did check let me tell you. He laughed when I said I wanna see them too. We walk out back and immediately I can see there is still primer left over. I pointed this out and [redacted] confirmed it. I went on to say that they aren't done if there is still primer on them. Boy, [redacted] begged to differ. Their excuse for a "finished" set of sandblasted wheels was actually half bare metal and half primer. I sat there arguing with him because he to this day still swears they were done. I've taken them to two other powdercoaters and they both said they'd have to be reblasted, then powdered in order to get them to finish smooth. Both places also informed me that they have had to fix Ultimate's mistakes before and was told Ultimate does not actually have the proper (wet sand) blasting system. The wheels are half done and he wanted me to pay full price for them still. After 20 minutes of him making up every excuse in the book, he took $30 off my bill and made me pay cash for it. Umm....Thank you? The problem I have is with the customer service mostly. He had every explanation and excuse as to why these wheels were done, when they clearly weren't. Instead just making it right and admitting they weren't finished, he chose to argue the fact they were done. I'm not an expert on sandblasting, but it was THAT obvious. Two different textures and materials. Half metal, half primer still. I've done business with them before and it wasn't too bad of an experience besides the half-[redacted] weld applied to my exhaust. Looks like a blind man did it and I know I could do better. All in all, Goodding Performance and Ultimate Coatings will never get another dollar from me or anyone that I can steer away. [redacted] cares about your money, and not about whether you come back for more business.
