Initial Business Response /* (1000, 6, 2015/11/11) */
There are many issues with this complaint. the first issue, is that there has not been any sales people to this house. The last person there, who was a certified technician, with many years of experience, and training, let you know there was...

an issue with how the condensing unit was sitting (pulling away from the house). The suggested fix, was just that. A suggestion. We do not force anyone into making any purchases. It was also explained that we didn't have to attach it to the house, and that it was simply a better option since the ground shifts, and moves. This way she would not have to spend the money again a few more years down the road. The customer scheduled the repair to be done, which is why the deposit was received, and said nothing about thinking it over with the husband. If that were the case, there would have been no deposit. The fact that the customer was told by a kid that just graduated hvac school, there would be an air flow issue is absurd. This person doesn't know how the unit was going to be attached on a platform. Every install we do is in compliance with local codes. As far as not knowing about no refunds on the deposit, that is also false. The invoice that was filled out and signed by the customer states "All services are final once deposits have been received." In order to try to keep the peace, and not go through this trouble, we returned the deposit. In doing so, the customer was told we no longer wish to do business with her. Unfortunately, because of all the bad talk, and dishonesty, we have decided to no longer have a relationship with this customer. The refund of $150 for the remainder of the maintenance contract is in the mail.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (2000, 8, 2015/11/17) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Likewise, there are issues with thier response. I did tell the tech/sales person I needed to talk it over with my husband. He still asked for and took my deposit. The friend I asked for a second opinion is by no means a kid and he did a great job leveling the AC unit.
I will accept the refund of $150.00 and be done with this.

Complaint: 11298510
I am rejecting this response because:
Sincerely,[redacted], et alThe notes, from my spouse, clearly indicated (and this information was already told to you, [redacted], that the last service repair to my home, the "service call" was removed for doing the in-home repair).  This information was also confirmed by [redacted], upon a "cold call" to "Goodfellas" on March 21, 2016. Specifically, I have a recording for my own use, with him stating "service call is no more that $79.00, and that we remove the service fee if the repair is done", (in your home at the same service call time and date). However, [redacted]'s quote for furnace repair, on this day, and another day, when a friend of mine called and he gave (her, my friend), the same response. So it stands, on its own merit, in my experience in dealing with "Goodfellas";  several ethical and possible criminal matters exist for the Revdex.com to review. Therefore, I stand in protest, as a consumer, executing some basic right's. In this case, the Revdex.com, asking for assistance in this matter, so myself and other consumers are aware of the "Goodfella" unethical, illegal, business practices of fraud and more. An investigation of the "Goodfellas" books may be an item the for Colorado District Attorney's Office to review. Personally, in my time at the Denver District Attorney's office, with Bill Ritter, the 6-floor would have been my first stop in my way to work. Finally stated, the repair should have, based upon "Goodfellas" staff, thus being, [redacted] and [redacted], in their own words, they will remove the $79.00 service call, (and not $89.00, as played by [redacted], at time of payment); upon issuing the estimate amount for the repair. In this case, [redacted] specifically wrote up an estimate, NOT LISTING the $79 or $89 service fee, and clearly gave over the estimate to me for review. The estimate, for review, clearly showed the FULL AMOUNT PAYABLE WAS $250.00. That's all! After paying the $250.00, another 5 min. passed, and he said "well, you still owe for the service fee of $89." Really I asked, and more importantly, ([redacted]) your written estimate stated, as the full amount due for the work was, in full, $250.00. At this point, [redacted] takes this moment to write down another amount due on the estimate, now adding the $89.00. We briefly discussed the matter, I protested, as indicated in this report to the Revdex.com, and reluctantly paid [redacted], another $89.00, in cash. I protested on the spot, but felt pressured by him to pay the $89.After [redacted] leaves, I place a call place to "Goodfellas". [redacted] quoted me the $79.00 service fee, and application of the fee upon repair, to be removed. I also asked who was the "owner", and he would not give me any details, and he said "I am the manger, of the business, how may I help". I declined the help and hung up, later to call [redacted]. Then again, others days, [redacted], and [redacted]. They all refused to tell me who the owner was. I found out anyway, later.  Let me add that the promise on the 25th from [redacted], stated, "when I get to the office on Monday, I will adjust this invoice and send you the $89.00, for sure, not a problem, and mail it to you". By Monday, the 25th, the day of alledge payment to me, for the $89.00; I called "Goodfellas" and [redacted] passed the phone over to [redacted] listened to my complaint over the shoddy and dishonest business practices recently taken place. He said, "give me a few hours, [redacted] is on a service call, and I will discuss this with him", and for sure, I'll get back with you today. Of course, [redacted] never called that day, or any day. He is hiding from my calls. In part, I assert this as fact of knowing, for [redacted] forgot to place my call on true hold. ([redacted]), must have been talking to [redacted] in the background, saying, "just tell him, (me) that he will be getting a check sent out on Friday". [redacted] returns, and states, "you will get the check sent to you on Friday". I asked, the $89.00, and the answer was, "yes", "$89.00. I can only assume that [redacted], are all avoiding my repeated calls. On April 1, 2016, the Revdex.com email indicated a responce from Goodfellas; by now I cannot but wonder if that business name of "Goodfellas" stands out as an oxymoron with dubious intentions intermixed in the in ethical business practices. They are dishonest, evasive, contentious, deliberately dishonest, to name a few of the experiences that I have had with this business. In short, I will not accept the deception and deliberate consumer fraud from "Goodfellas". Now, never. I will give BB a little more time to get to the truth and settle this matter before taking deliberate media, social media, legal, and other creative actions to make me whole from the deceptions.  Thank you,  [redacted]

Revdex.com:
The company sent me a check as I requested. The amount sent is correct, $89.00 for the service call. The receipt that the company sent to the Revdex.com was altered, adding some things that Do Not Appear on my copy. This step is typical behavior for the unethical company that "got caught" by this consumer and (I) would not allow the company to rip me off, as attempted, with cover up. Again, the service charge was to be $79.00, not $89.00; and the amount of the service charge was to be removed for the "repair of $250.00 for a job consisting of 20 min., and the part cost was $25.00 to $30.00 max., and they probably paid less for the part. Finally, [redacted] added the amount of $89.00 on the service contract, only after I paid in "cash" the amount of $250.00. Very deliberate and dishonest, and in my opinion, criminal. I settled for the amount of $89.00 and will never do business with them. Nice profit margin, but greed got the better of the company; 20 min., $250.00. Wow! Bait and switch business model. Tom

Goodfellas does guarantee any work performed.  The technician that was at the house doing the service replaced a capacitor for the fan motor, and recommended replacing the igniter.  Other than that, there were no further issues found.   The customer did not want the igniter...

replaced, so it was left alone.  After 90 days, the customer called back wanting us to return to the house for free to "just listen to a sound the furnace is making".  He was informed that there is a $99 fee for the trip charge, and diagnostics.  He stated at that time that he would not pay anything extra to fix any issues past or present that are found.  He was told that was OK, however he still need to pay for a technician to go to the house to let him know what the sound was. We do not pay our techs to go on free service calls to simply listen to a furnace, that is why there is a trip charge.

I have a signed invoice from the customer showing the break down of cost.  Not sure how I added in the $89 cost for the service call after the fact when it's on the first line.  Also the total amount can be seen at the bottom right of the invoice $339.  I have already refunded the $89, and need to put more attention in my many other happy loyal customers who are not trying to take advantage of the company.  This matter is closed.  If there are any issues, or more threats, please contact me at the office.  ([redacted]

First off, I would like to say that all this information is incorrect.  When the spouse called the office on Tuesday the 22nd after hours, I answered the phone.  She said she needed a service call for no heat upstairs.  I offered to come right out for $89 which covers the trip charge,...

and diagnosis.  (never did I tell her that I would take off the service charge if there was a repair done) She agreed to the amount, but did not want me to come out until Friday.  Friday the 25th I went to the service call, diagnosed the issue, and got the repair cleared with the husband for $250 before any other work was done.  The husband paid the $250 in cash as I was writing the invoice when I noticed he was short the $89 for the service call.  He questioned it, and I informed him that I told his wife there was a charge for coming out, and that it covered the trip and diagnostic fee.  He agreed and paid the remainder, and signed the invoice.  Later that night I received a call from the husband saying he felt taken advantage of because I didn't take off the service fee.  We discussed the conversation I had with his wife, but since he felt so bad about it, and because he was a repeat customer, I offered to send him a refund for the $89 Monday.  When he called the office, he was told he would have his check by the end of the week.  The check has been sent out already.  I am blown away by these allegations.  What is bait and switch about when you called me to come fix your furnace, and give you the pricing for everything up front? I myself can't say enough about people who get there issue handled immediately, and refunded for something they were never promised, just to keep them happy, and they turn around and stab you in the back by going on line to bad mouth you, and throw around words like criminals.  If we were criminals why would you call to have us come back to your house for repairs?  You should have received your check by now.  Have a great day.[redacted]
