Goods Auto Sales Reviews (1)

Review: I Purchased a 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN# [redacted] from Goods Auto Sales. I paid cash at the time of purchase, then when the title arrived at my house I went to my bank to get a loan. I was denied the loan due to frame/unibody damage, which took the value of the vehicle down drastically. I then got the Autocheck for the vehicle and found it had been announced to have major frame/unibody damage and also an odometer rollback issue at the auction where it was purchased by Goods Auto Sales. Both the owner of Goods Auto and the salesman who sold it to me admit to knowing both of these problems exist with the title. These issues were never disclosed to me which would have ultimately deterred me from purchasing the vehicle due to the drastic decrease in value. The PA CODE CHAPTER 301. AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY TRADE PRACTICES states: 301.2. Advertising and sales presentation requirements.(5) The representation in an advertisement or sales presentation that a motor vehicle or motor vehicle goods or services are of a particular style, model, standard, quality or grade if they are of another or if the representation conflicts with a written notice or disclosure required under this chapter. For the purposes of this chapter, a motor vehicle which is offered for sale is represented to be roadworthy, and the advertiser or seller shall disclose prior to sale the following conditions if the advertiser or seller knows or should know that the conditions exist in the motor vehicle: (i) Frame bent, cracked or twisted. (ii) Engine block or head cracked. (iii) Vehicle unable to pass State inspection. (iv) Transmission damaged, defective or so deteriorated as to require replacement. (v) Vehicle flood damaged. (vi) Differential damaged, defective or so deteriorated as to require replacement. I feel I should have been made aware of these issues with the vehicle before the sale was made due to serious decrease in value with the frame damage reported.Desired Settlement: I want to return the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN #[redacted]to Goods Auto Sales for a full refund of the purchase price totaling $13,800.00

Business

Response:

We were notified by Mr. [redacted] about the issue he had with the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee that he purchased from us on 10/31/13. He tried to finance his vehicle and they would not do it because they stated the vehicle had an “R’ Title, which it does not. He then called me to get some clarification and I confirmed the title was clean and also the that the vehicle had a clean carfax with no accidents. I have faxed the carfax for you to review. Mr [redacted] and I have had numerous discussions and I have offered to trade him out of the jeep and into another one. I have offered to consign the vehicle and allow him to sell it on my lot. I have offered to buy it back at clean trade value. He declined all my attempts thus far to try to resolve the situation. We have been in business for almost 30 years and I have every vehicle service and quality checked before it leaves the lot and have a solid reputation in the community. If Mr baer would like to accept my previous offers I will gladly do so.
