Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Thank you Mr*** for taking time to help me resolve this problem I am happy to provide you with any information that can.#Bestway QC Field Supervisor Steve H*** and Technical Services Manager Daniel B*** visited the site of the complaint.#Yes I have a home office and so I am good about keeping safe walking areas for my patients.#No de-icing agents were used I actually purchased heated rubber snow/ice melt mats from *** to ensure my driveway and walkway were not icy or dangerous for my patients.#Yes the concrete is on the north west corner of my house.#I do not have both of the documents for each of the batches poured that day but the 2nd batch shows 5.oo in slump#I only have a copy of the 2nd load for that morning Both loads were delivered the morning of July 1, the 2nd delivery is ticket # I am hoping you can provide the details of the 1st batch from your Company records.#Steel trowels were used but the finish was made with a wide broom to make a streaked pattern East to West on slabs and North to South on slabs alternately.#No that I know of.#No rain or other elements occurred.Regards,

*** ***, I am responding to your letters dated January 13, and January 25, In this complaint, there are many missing pieces of information, listed below: What are the names of the Bestway employees that went out to see *** ***? On the flatwork in question, was the concrete always shoveled off during a snow and ice event? Was the concrete cleared off using deicing salts? Is the concrete in question on a north facing side of the structure? What slump was the concrete ordered at and placed at? What is the ticket number for the first load? Was a steel trowel used when finishing the concrete? Was there water used to aid in the finishing of the concrete? Were there any rain or other weather events during the placement of the concrete? We are happy to respond to this unfortunate situation, as you can see there are a good deal of missing pieces of information that we need to have provided to us. Defects in the concrete started to show prior to the 1 year anniversary of its installation.  The contractor that installed it came out to look at it at around the 10 month point.  Around the 1 year point the 1st of 2 representatives from Bestway concrete & aggregate did a site visit...

and basically said not their problem and offered a few absurd possibilities as to what caused the problem like freezing (not likely in July) too much water in the mix, other weather factors, etc. After that it took a while to get a 2nd representative here.  He said my  contractor should work with his sales rep to follow up to see what might be done about it.  After that I got nowhere with Bestway or the contractor or the Bestway sales rep.  The sales rep @ Bestway refused to talk to me.  At the 2 year anniversary the driveway is approaching 50% defective.  A significant portion of the top surface has flaked / scaled off.  The driveway looks much worse than the 40 year old concrete driveway that it replaced.
