Review: We purchased 20, G5305 Vinyl DH Gorell windows (GOE-K-2-00014 Extruded Vinyl Frame-Double Pane-Low E-Argon/Air Fill) for our home from [redacted] in 2006 for $7,396.00. The windows starting loosing gas and were spotted white rather quickly, so several were replaced under the limited lifetime warranty of the product. We were told it was a bad batch of windows and several people had been complaining of the same issue. Several of them went bad again, in addition to the replacements, so they were replaced yet again. They have almost all gone bad now, and you can't even see through them, so we contacted the home improvement company that we purchased them from and who installed them. They simply told us that the company went bankrupt and they would not stand behind the products warranty, nothing they would do and hung up. These windows are supposed to be rated for a much colder region than where we live and they have failed miserably. The worst quality at a very high price and we are very disappointed, not to mention in need of new windows again. I would not recommend Gorell products to anyone, nor [redacted] for that matter!Desired Settlement: I would like a total refund of the purchase of these defective windows, including installation. The windows have been replaced with the same product twice already, so they have proven to be of poor quality. I must now purchase and have installed 20 new windows because this company did not stand behind the signed agreement of a limited lifetime warranty and the product failed.

Review: Gorell manufactured the Windows that were installed in our home in 2009. The windows have a lifetime warranty. Half of the windows have leaking seals which has allowed moisture to get in between the panes. The windows are stained and unsightly and they cannot be cleaned because the problem is between the panes. We spent $15,000 to have our windows replaced. We never would have spent this if we thought our windows would only last for 7 years. The company went out of business and did not transfer the warranties. They refuse to honor the lifetime warranty that they sold us. We have been cheated out of a lot of money.Desired Settlement: We would like to receive a refund of $15,000 so we can have the defective windows replaced. Half of the 15 windows have leaked and we fully expect the others to start leaking soon. If a refund is not possible, we want the defective windows to be replaced. We want Gorell to honor the warranty that they refuse to honor.

Review: I had windows installed by Amazing Siding November 15, 2006 manufactured by Gorell, which was purchased by Softlight. The windows came with a warranty. I noticed something splattered on the window and had someone come out to wash them and was told it was a seal failure inside the window. I called Amazing Siding and was told it was a manufacturing issue not installation. I contacted Softlight and they will not honor any warranty.Desired Settlement: I would like the sashes replaced on 3 windows.

Review: We purchased and installed all new replacement windows from the Gorell Company. After about a year some of the seals broke on the double pane construction and moisture started to build up between the panes of glass. Since we purchased a life time warranty on each window we contacted the people who sold us the windows and they told us that our warranty is no long good.Desired Settlement: I understand that Gorell went into bankrupcy and that the present owners purchased the company The part of this that I don't understand is - we paid for the warranty. If they can't deliver on the agreement that we purchased they should at least refund the money that we paid for the warranty. In my world it's illegal to take money for a product (in this case a warranty) and say that you won't deliver that product and that you won't refund the money for the product. Isn't that illegal?

Review: The [redacted] bought several windows and sliding glass doors (year 2003) from Gorell to be replaced on two buildings. Since then 5 windows have had the seals break and air has gotten into the windows causing discoloration and issue of argon gas. We have the warranty (50 year) including the cover letter from the company stating the high quality service and products they have. We contacted the installation company about replacing the windows with the issues. We were told that Soft-Lite purchased the company Gorell but would not honor any warranties from customer's who had purchased products from them prior to the acquisition of the company. We feel that this is poor customer service and that the warranties should be honored, especially if Soft-Lite feels that the business they purchased from has a good reputation products and services.Desired Settlement: Want the five windows replaced at no charge

Gorell would not honor its 50 year warranty on its triple pane windows. Seals were all defective and shoddy workmanship was revealed upon further inspection.

Glass was junk, not initially sealed properly and company fails to take any responsibility after a very sizable investment.

Avoid Gorell/ Gorell soft lite

Review: Company I talked with says they have gone out of business, so now the life time warrenty I have is worthless and need to use it.Desired Settlement: Some kind of compensation should be made with customers to get there product replaced or partual refund of ther money. Paid 15000. for these windows and doors!

Review: I bought all brand new windows for my home with a 50 year warranty. Less than three years later, I have mold growing in between the paines of glass. Contacted the buisness where I purchased the windows. Found out that Gorell no longer has a warranty! I have three windows with the same problem. I should not be replacing my replacement windows three years after they were installed. I called Gorell and they said there is nothing they can do for me. Basically I wasted my money.Desired Settlement: I have no idea where to go. I basically want my bad windows replaced and have my warranty valid.

Review: BOUGHT 5,510 DOLLARS WORTH OF WINDOWS FROM GORELL OUT OF INDIANA,PA ON 10-4-2005 NOW 3 WINDOWS ARE SO FOOGED UP THAT YOU CANNOT SEE OUT. I CALLED THEM AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WENT OUT OF BUSINESS ANOTHER WINDOW OUTLET BOUGHT THEM OUT. THESE WINDOWS HAVE A 50 YR WARRANTY I THINK THE WINDOW COMPANY THAT BOUGHT THEM OUT SHOULD REPLACE THESE VERY BAD WINDOWS THANK YOU [redacted]Desired Settlement: REPLACE ALL WINDOWS THAT ARE BAD

Review: Spent over $20k with interest on "new" windows for my entire home only for them to need replacing not even 3 years after installation. The windows appear to have gas leaks and it looks as though mold is growing in between the panes. I have been unsuccessful in contacting anyone at the company who installed the windows and every number I find listed online is either disconnected or the wrong number. The windows did NOT help in energy efficiency and the screens were not un-breakable as the salesperson promised and assured us. The warranty is of no help and has no validity. I really hope we can obtain some sort of assistance in being reimbursed for the horrible windows. I was better off leaving my old ones in.Desired Settlement: I would like to be reimbursed as I now have to replace all of my windows again. The amount of time I have spent searching for a contact and a resolution is incredible. I was finally able to locate all of my paper to file this complaint. Please Help!!!
