Review: A GotCarWash representative came by my street knocking door-to-door offering car wash membership to a local Car Wash business. I was told I could sign up for a discounted 1-month trial period with an automatic renewal at the full price of $34.99 per vehicle, which covers unlimited regular car washes. I asked about the cancellation policy since it was my plan to use the trial but cancel to avoid the automated renewal at the full price. I was verbally told that I could call or cancel online anytime before the trial period ended. I purchased two promotion codes and then signed up online by creating an online account and registering my two vehicles and selecting my local participating Car Wash.

Other than an initial "Welcome" Email I never received any Email notifications or phone calls from the company up to and including the end of my trial period. After several uses during the trial period, the last day of my trial arrived and the evening prior to the end of the contract I called but reached the company after their normal business hours. I looked online and saw that I could submit a web request via a simple subject drop-down and fill in the box type web submittal. I selected the Policy Related drop down and typed in and submitted that I would like my policy cancelled and not billed.

I was surprised to see a pending charge on my credit card the next morning for $34.99 so as soon as the business opened, I called and spoke with an female agent who apologized but quickly pointed that their policy is that I needed to cancel at least 5 business days before the end of my trial to avoid being billed for the next month. I explained that the person who came to my door never said that, and she stated that I should have read the online policy. I told her I clearly didn't see it and wasn't sent any Emails either. She refused to refund my money and I now have contacted my [redacted] bank and will have to dispute the charges. The agent would not budge from her "our policy" position.Desired Settlement: I have initiated a credit card dispute and will let [redacted] Bank follow the normal process, but I would strongly recommend that this business change its policy for new customers and send out a notification Email 10-days before the end of the first month reminding them that they will be automatically re-billed for the following month in 10-days and if they want to cancel the service they need to call no later than 5-days before a given date. I think that is an easy automated process that can be implemented to avoid this type of issue.

In addition I think that if a brand new customer calls to ask for a refund and honestly states that he was not aware of the "fine print" the benefit of the doubt should be given and their money refunded. Instead I am now writing this Revdex.com complaint, telling everyone I know on social media to stay away from this business, and will never ever use their service again!

Review: I called GotCarWash.com Customer Service on 4/1/2015 at approx 12:25pm and spoke with a [redacted] (or [redacted]) who claims she was the only manager. I mentioned to her that during my sign-up I made a mistake and entered my commercial vehicle instead of my personal vehicle and asked to make that switch before I drive over to the car wash for my first wash. I immediately got a rude reply from her stating that their policy prohibits commercial vehicles from being used on the car washes. DUH! MY MAIN REASON FOR THE CALL WAS TO HAVE IT CHANGED TO MY PERSONAL VEHICLE DUE TO A MISTAKE! I was very well aware of their policy before signing up. It's just that the license plate numbers for my personal and commercial vehicles are similar in nature with the exception of 1 character. Then right after I got off the phone she puts a "HOLD" on my account and now this service is pretty much useless to me.

I just think that that their business practices are very unethical and the matter should've been handled a lot more professionally than that. As far as [redacted] you're doing a [redacted] poor job at being a manager and if that's how you conduct yourself with customers on a daily basis I'm pretty sure you're company won't last very long.Desired Settlement: I want my refund in FULL back to my credit card or the initial request of my call to be fulfilled.

Review: Signed up for what was described as a one time payment deal of $25 for 30 days of unlimited car washes from this company. Now 7 months later in February 2015 I get a fraud notice that I've been getting charged $34.99 by this company. NO WHERE was it shown or agreed that I would pay monthly for this joke of a company. I signed my receipt once for the $25 and never agreed to be charged monthly, otherwise frankly I wouldn't of signed up to pay that much. I've contacted them and was told I need a "written" document saying I'd wish to cancel. Even tho when I was denied a car wash in mid July bacuse my free trial had expired, hence why I have not returned. Yet I've still been charged $34.99 monthly without once being told or acknowledged by the company who refuses to admit they've scammed me and done it in the slyest manner over the passed 7/8 monthsDesired Settlement: Coming from my bank statements I've been wrongly charged $34.99 per month since July 2014 without acknowledgement from gotcarwash.com and would like compensation for the wrong doing of this company. Especially since I have no agreement saying I would pay monthly and was denied service by this company after their supposed "30 day trial" had ended

Review: On 8/20/14, I cancelled my subscription to GotCarWash. The company charged my credit card $35.99 on the same day for another month's subscription. When I called to dispute the charge on 9/22/14, I was told by their customer service representative that their policy was not to issue credits for cancelled subscriptions. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, the supervisor, named "Sam", also refused to issue the credit. I have notified American Express about GotCarWash's unethical practices and they will also be disputing the charge, and have placed a block on GotCarWash so they cannot further charge my account. Because I found the service through the AAA magazine, I will also be filing a complaint with AAA.Desired Settlement: I request a refund of the $35.99 from the company, plus $14.01 for my time to file this complaint and the complaint with American Express, for a total of $50.00 I would like a written apology from [redacted] the supervisor, and from the CEO of GotCarWash.
