I am rejecting this response because:  Mr G[redacted] is aware of the issues with the carport and agreed in December to come to my home and repair it.  In addition to the leaking roof, the contractor that came to look at the issues informed me that the carport brackets are not sufficient to support the structure.   I made several attempts to remind Mr G [redacted] that the carport needed repair and he said he would return and do that in the spring.  He was contracted for work at a separate property that I am not addressing in this claim.  There were issues with the work and his services were terminated.  He was instructed that he couldn't be on my property without my presence.  Mr G[redacted] became upset.  That issue has no bearing on the fact that Mr Gould is responsible for the construction of the carport and is a professional in the field.  He was hired to build it because he is supposed have the knowledge to do the work and I trusted his ability to do it right.  I do have a contractor working on my property, but he has not attempted any repairs to the carport.  I gave Mr G[redacted] opportunities to do the repairs to the carport on several occasions and have lost all confidence in his work.  I expect Mr G[redacted] to give a partial refund to cover the repairs.  Mr G[redacted] can offer a fair amount for the partial refund.  It's easy for a contractor to blame the consumer for his poor business practices.

On April 22nd, 2017 I received an email from [redacted] that accused my company of all kinds of wrong doings and informed me that she had acquired another contractor. I have been out to her property several times in the past few years doing all sorts of work for [redacted] and her former partner [redacted]. I have always tried my best to satisfy the customer and build things as specified by the customer. I have done my best to build everything out there with both new and used materials provided by the homeowner. I'm not guilty of any wrongdoings and I have always stood by my work. I have already attempted to fix the leaking roof on the "flat roof" carport that the homeowner requested I construct. I am not sure what you expect of me if you have already hired another contractor and have informed me I am not welcome back. This is the last time I will respond to these accusations. You have already damaged my reputation enough. You have my phone number and you are fully capable of calling me directly. I guess the next step will be for me to contact my lawyer. Thanks for all the business in the past and I wish you luck with your carport. Good bye.

I built the carport to the homeowner specifications "against my advice." They had me build a flat roof in snow country with a small budget. If you look at the time of season it actually had issues (December) I am not surprised. Standing snow, ice, and rain on a "FLAT roof." The water had no place to...

go. I personally did what I could to stop it aside from redesigning the roof with better materials and a slope for runoff.
