Review: We hired [redacted]/Green Properties to demo and rebuild our house after it was destroyed in super storm sandy. We signed the contract in May 2013, and was supposed to be completed in November 2013. The demo was started on Sept. [redacted] 2013. Nothing else was done until May 2014. The contractor kept telling us there was problems with the town of Hempstead causing the delay. After going to the town ourselves we were told the contractor had not submitted the proper paperwork. Construction was finally begun in May 2014 We had been giving the contractor disbursements of insurance and NY Rising funds as he requested. We had discussed at the end of June, the beginning of the siding and trim and 10,000 of the disbursement was to begin the siding. In July [redacted] was hospitalized and 5 weeks passed. After returning to work we inquired about the siding. It became increasingly difficult to reach [redacted] by phone, text or email. The siding was finally started in October 2014. We gave him a disbursement of 26,600 on 10/**/14 and were told this would buy the sheetrock, insulation and finish the siding. Nothing else was done until 11/**/14 when he wanted another 19,000. We inquired about the lein that was put on the house by the cement company. [redacted] stated that they were paid. Also between Oct and Nov. Plumbing Co. and HVAC company stated Checks from [redacted] had bounced or had not been received at all by the subcontractors. At this point it was obvious that he was a thief and a liar and we fired him. We paid him over 200,000 and would like him to return the money for many item that he was paid for but did not doDesired Settlement: return 25,000 dollars of items paid for that were never done
