In response to the complaint for customer: Sukhu We met with the customer on 5/ At this meeting we showed the customer with definitive proof that this leak was indeed NOT from the roof, rather from the siding This is exactly what we had told them in a past visit In order to gain their confidence in our diagnosis, we removed siding in the affected area and exposed the substantial wood rot damage behind the siding above the area showing signs of a leak inside the home The [redacted] were very accepting of this and apologized for their incorrect assessment of the problem (which was incorrectly affirmed by another contractor) We made a temporary repair for them (at no charge), and were given an order to make a permanent fix They were very friendly and we have restored their confidence in our companyThis issue is resolved Please feel free to contact the customer to confirm that this has been satisfactorily handledG [redacted] PMartini

We spoke with the customer today and discovered that our disagreement is the result of a failure to communicate properly We have agreed to a procedure to use a step-by-step process of elimination to establish the origin of the problem The customer knows that I, the owner of the company, will oversee this process to ensure that the problem is solved We have agreed to allow him to pay for the procedure AFTER the result of this procedure is satisfactory to him We value his business and are committed to his complete satisfaction with our diagnosis and our work

I am rejecting this response because:What the business owner, Mr Martini is stating is simply a lieI have always returned every phone callIt is Martini that has been dragging this issue on now for monthsWhile every time it rains I get water into my houseThey conveniently state that the cause of the leak is due to a failing vent pipe, because now they don't have to fix my roofThe ridge of my roof is fixed with tape, the vent collar is fixed with tapeThis is not how a real roofing company deals with it customersIf they feel that it is possibly a leak inside the vent pipe, then they should install the vent covers and I would be more than happy to pay for them, should that fix the problemAt this point, I cannot have any confidence in what they are saying and I am not going to pay for something that may not fix the leakI think paying $40K for my roof last year should prove that I am a trust worthy customer and that they owe me the benefit of the doubt, install the covers before charging me.Regards,

We examined the customer's leak and determined that it was caused by a failing pipe joint on the inside of his attic.  He suggested that because it is difficult to access, he would like us to install a cap on this pipe on the roof.  We agreed to do so at a cost of $350.  He asked us...

what happens if our diagnosis was wrong and we informed him that we would refund his $350 and continue to attempt to locate the problem - but we are certain that this is the problem.  He did not return our call when we attempted to arrange this repair.  We know that he would rather this be a problem in his roof, because it would be under our warranty, but it is simply not.  We have offered the remedy and he chose to not return the call to arrange.  His roof is properly installed and is not leaking.

In response to the complaint for customer: Sukhu
We met with the customer on 5/24.  At this meeting we showed the customer with definitive proof that this leak was indeed NOT from the roof, rather from the siding.  This is exactly what we had told them in a past visit....

In order to gain their confidence in our diagnosis, we removed siding in the affected area and exposed the substantial wood rot damage behind the siding above the area showing signs of a leak inside the home.  The [redacted] were very accepting of this and apologized for their incorrect assessment of the problem (which was incorrectly affirmed by another contractor).  We made a temporary repair for them (at no charge), and were given an order to make a permanent fix.  They were very friendly and we have restored their confidence in our company.
This issue is resolved.  Please feel free to contact the customer to confirm that this has been satisfactorily handled.

Review: had gutters installed and completed in dec 2011 by GP Martini (after spending close to 16K on a roofing job they did).

Mr Martini was contacted by me that 2 sections were not properly installed, with one being section of gutter being bent

by his workers when they tried to fix it once before.

After much hesitation, [redacted] agreed to replace the sections, but at same time insisted that I pay him the money for job complete, when

in fact it was not done properly.

He then said it will take some time, after which I emailed him in aug 2012 and he said he will get to it.

I emailed him again in april 2013. He said he will advise when it will be scheduled.

Emailed this last week, and no response.Desired Settlement: replace the sections or I can hire someone else to do this and forward bill to GP Martini.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

Regards,

Review: In March 2011, GP Martini installed a new roof on our home. Before installation, the old roof did not leak. After installation, the roof leaked into the house whenever it rained. We reported this to the roofer, who stated that it was not a problem with the roof he installed, but a defective placement of a channel by the builder. He caulked the channel and was willing to fix it at a cost, which we declined at the time. To reiterate, the roof did not leak before the new roof was installed.

Late last year, we called the roofer to look at the roof again to let us know what it would take to fix the channel. He promised to come out at look at it. We did not hear from him, but given the harsh winter conditions, we were patient to wait until the Spring of this year to follow up. We called in March and again he promised to come out and look at the roof. Over the last month, we have called at least three more times. Last week, his office promised that he would come out this week, but he did not come out or call to follow up. He has completely ignored our requests.

In the interim, we had another roofer look at the roof. He informed us that if he fixed the problem, he was concerned that it might invalidate the warranty. However, he did state that since the roof did not leak prior to the installation of the new roof, the the problem has to be with the new roof, which was our conclusion from the beginning.

We are further concerned that the leak will potentially lead to mold in the ceiling and the walls.Desired Settlement: The business needs to fix the roof so that it does not leak and repair the damages to the ceiling inside where the water comes in.
