Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: The microwave opening was not an afterthought When Mr [redacted] replaced the oven, he left the opening for the microwave and then he left for vacation and said he would finish when he returned After several calls and weeks later, he did return but used scrap pieces of wood to line the opening and stained the sides and not the top Also the microwave opening had gaps in the corners where the wood didn't fit and we had to have trim placed to cover the gaps Of course he did not see the brush marks until after it was painted And yes, the paint is chipping It was put on too thick and heavy and was not the proper paint Mr [redacted] assistant agreed he would put on the trim to the microwave cabinet when they returned to paint the doorBut after numerous attempts to have him come back and numerous promises by him, they just didn't come back Mr [redacted] got busy due to the storm where more people needed work done and he just did not want to come back and finish up We just wanted a professional job done and he calls us picky because of his shoddy work He promised to come back numerous times to redo the door and he simply broke his word Regards, [redacted] ***

in response to the inside of the cabinet ...I was not even going to finish the inside of the cabinet ...the customers were the most particular people ive ever worked for...ive been doing this stuff for years...I did finish the inside of the cabinet...btw it wasn't part of our original
deal...it was an after thought ..like I said normally I wouldn't even finish the inside of the cabinet because the microwave covers most of the opening...with regardsa to the front door I gave the customer exactly what they paid for ...there is no chipping paint ,,,(that is just not true)in fact the customer didn't want to see brush marks ...this was never mentioned to me until after we had painted the door...I did not charge for that...if I would have known ahead of time ,I could have accommodated the customer...to the Revdex.com I would like to say : if you just accept whatever a person says as truth ,then you are in a position of judge and jury...that is very unfair to hard working contractors such as myself that depend on a good reputation for our very well being...I gave the customer everything they asked for and they got what they paid for ...if someone has unreal expectations then they need to state upfront ...this is what I want ...not after the fact

I never said that I didn't charge to do the front door I said that I charged to do exactly what I did...repaint the front door...also I did say I would come back.but my intention was to let you know axactly what im saying now...that is that I did exactly what I was asked to do ...I don't understand how you ,in good conscience ,can be asking for me to pay for %more than what I originally charged you...I charged $to repaint your front door...and then we ended up buying gallons of paint after the first gallon didn't match due to misinformation that you had given me...so I spent $on paint ...if you thought that I was coming back to repaint the front door then that was an assumsion on your part...now...to deal with the oven cabinet...I will again say that I went above and beyond what I normally would have done and stained inside the cabinet with matching stain ...again I will say , I did exactly what I said I would do...there was never a mention when I was done that anything was questionable about the work... Sincerely, ** ***

in response to the claims .I was not hired by [redacted] ..I was hired by the wife and never heard a thing from mr. [redacted] until he decided that he wanted to be involoved ...again ill say ,I did everything that I was asked to do . I charged for exactly what I delivered.  Everything was done to what I believed to be normal standards .. what exactly does mr [redacted] want or hope to accomplish by berating me?he had nothing to do with anything until we agreed on the front door repainted.$100. 40 of that was paint . It was the proper paint. I've been painting for 30 years...he didn't like the front door repainted because you could see brush marks.I supposed he assumed that we wouldn't leave brush marks.nothing was said about that until after we finished (maybe days later) as far as the oven job . There couldn't have been brush marks because I used a "wiping stain".That doesn't leave brush marks.. he's making stuff up because he's an angry man.if someone is a perfectionist then they should tell you up front they expect perfection..then proper plans can be executed in performance ,pricing and/or at least have an opportunity to say, never mind. Also I believe that there was some mention of $ 350 to make mr. [redacted] happy . I wouldn't mind doing that if anything he is saying was true. Again I'll say he isn't the person that hired me. It was ms. [redacted].

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
Mr. [redacted] is confused, I believe.  We, my wife and I, make these kind of decisions
together.  We both met initially with Mr.
[redacted] and agreed to hire him to do some remodeling in our home.  We picked out the granite together.  As I mentioned previously, Mr. [redacted] partially stained the oven opening.  If being
a perfectionist is wanting a professional job done, then I am one of many. The
front door was painted by his hired worker.   As mentioned, it was put on very heavily and
thick leaving thick swirled lines and the paint is chipping.  Mr. [redacted] himself said it would have to be
sanded and repainted. Mr. [redacted] kept
promising to return and repaint the door.
And he promised on numerous occasions to do so.  Mr. [redacted] never said he would not return and,
until the complaint was filed, he never
gave a reason for not returning. Mr. [redacted] also stated he did not charge to do
it.  Now he’s admitting he did.
We would welcome a third party to come out and see the door
for themselves.  I also have pictures of
the microwave opening as Mr. [redacted] left it and after we had it finished.  We would not have issued a complaint if the
job had been done well. It was not at an
insignificant cost. If Mr. [redacted]’ asking
price to do the work meant it would not be done in a professional manner, we
would not have hired him. I believe the amount we requested for the
settlement is fair.
Regards,
[redacted]
