GR Motor Company Reviews (3)

I purchased a 2006 Hyundai Tucson on December 14, 2013. The original sale price on the dealership's website was $9,861. As a consultant, I was out of town, and the finance application was done over the phone prior to the sale. My down payment requirement was 25%; at a total of $2,140. After reviewing the paperwork when I got home, I noticed that the sale price on the buyer's order was $12,300. I was able to reach the finance manager via phone the following Monday, and was told that the difference in price was due to bank fees, so now my total financed cost is $20,006.87. My finance charge for this vehicle is $5,344.87, so I'm not sure why there are additional bank fees for which I have no paperwork. About a week ago, I noticed there were problems with the right front brake area. I took the car to be diagnosed and was told that the struts, the mount, and associated parts needed to be replaced, at a total repair cost of $1,312. The 24mo/24,000 mile extended warranty, purchased at $1,730, only covers $80 of the repair, and the rest is my responsibility. Both the CarFax and the Autocheck associated with the vehicle indicate that the dealership purchased the vehicle at auction on 11/4/2013. So I assumed that the dealership had the vehicle fully inspected prior to their purchase. The report I've received from the mechanic where the vehicle is now states that this issue wasn't caused within the six weeks that I've had the vehicle. I've contacted the owner of the dealership who says there is nothing he can do. In addition, after speaking to the sales and finance manager before my purchase, I referred a friend to the same dealership, where she also purchased a car. Her down payment requirement was $500. I covered the cost for her via check, however, her sale did not go through and her vehicle was returned to the dealership. I haven't received my $500 refund as the owner of the dealership states that no refund is eligible.Product_Or_Service: 2006 Hyundai Tucson LTD 4WDDesired Settlement1. This complaint accuses some serious infractions and requires a full and swift response. I'll address these complaints one at a time.As to the complaint on price; we strive for full disclosure and transparency with all of our customers. At the time of delivery, all fees associated with a particular purchase are disclosed to a customer in writing at least 2 times. There is never any pressure to continue with the sale if the terms don't meet or exceed the customers expectations. The deposit the customer gave weeks before would have been returned if she did not want to continue because of price.(Payments, fees, and prices were discussed before the customer made the trip to Garner.) A customer is never asked to sign a blank contract, and full disclosure is the expectation. As for the down payment the customer speaks of that she gave her friend; that's a different story. The friend took delivery of a car under false pretenses and went as far as to falsify paystubs. When the lender made us aware of the situation, we had no option but to send 2 drivers 3 hours each way to recover our property. The down payment monies collected did not even cover the expenses we incurred. On our website and on all of our vehicles it clearly states that we encourage customers to take their prospective purchases to an independent repair facility for a pre-sale inspection. We even offer to transport the vehicle for the customer as a convenience. Our vehicles go through an independent repair facility before we market them and we try to make the vehicles as "new" as possible. If the extended service contract company deems these repairs as a maintenance item, the customer certainly has the right to cancel the extended service contract through the company or lender. As over 1200 customers can attest to, we stand behind our products and value our customers. Thanks,[redacted]G R Motor CompanyFinal Consumer Response /[redacted]/I have nothing in writing stating the reason for the difference between the advertised price ($9,861), and the disclosed price ($12,300) that I was told were bank fees - that's the paperwork that's missing. I have the bank paperwork with the full APR. I was told by the finance manager that the difference in price was due to bank fees, but I realized after reviewing the package when I got home is that I have nothing in writing to indicate such. If $12,300 was the initial price of the vehicle, the down payment required would have been more than $2,140, which is what I was told was 25% of the posted sale price. With regard to the down payment for my friend, I witnessed my friend, at my house, attempt to print her paystubs from her company's website, but could not due to technical errors. Anything that took place after the sale had nothing to do with me. Final Business Response /[redacted]/At G R Motor Company, we provide copies of all documentation for the customers records. It appears that this customer has misplaced some of the documentation, therefore we will forward an additional copy of the documentation including the sheet from the lender showing the difference in amount financed and amount funded to dealer. I would still contend that all figures, prices, payments, and associated fees were disclosed and signed off on by the customer.

Excellent experience with owner and sales staff. Love the auto I purchased. Is everything I wanted. Felt I was at home talking to friends and family. Would recommend GR to anyone looking to change automobiles.

My son and I had the BEST experience buying a car at GR Motor Company and we will never go anywhere else from this point forward. [redacted] (the owner) went ABOVE and BEYOND to help us buy our 2007 Dodge Nitro. He personally made sure that my son and I where taken care of during a transitional time in our family. This is the first time ever buying a vehicle where there was no stress. We told him what we were looking for and he made it happen. My son and I could not be more thankful! This company is honest and trustworthy! Honestly we cannot say enough awesome things about them! We HIGHLY recommend GR Motor Company! Thank you [redacted]
