To Whom It May Concern,
On 5/14/14 G.R. [redacted] Enterprises completed a re-roof for Mr. [redacted] at the property of [redacted].
On 8/19/14 Mr. [redacted] called our office reporting a leak at his 2 skylights.  We sent a tech out to Mr. [redacted] property on...

8/22/14 and re-sealed around the 2 skylights which we consider a warranty item and therefore was no charge to Mr. [redacted].
On 9/9/14 Mr. [redacted] called our office reporting more leaks at the skylights.  We sent our tech to Mr. [redacted] property on 9/19/14.  Our tech reported that the skylights now have a crack in the plastic dome and he did seal those cracks.  We do not warranty the plastic lenses on the skylights and therefore we did charge in the amount of $214.00 ($200 plus tax).
Mr. [redacted] states in his complaint that at the time of inspection, prior to the estimate, he was told that the 2 skylights were in “fine shape and not in need of replacement.” This is correct, at the time of that initial inspection in May 2014, the skylights were found to be free of cracks. When we went back in August 2014 for the first reported leak, we did not find any cracked lenses at that time either, but instead concluded that the skylights only needed to be sealed around the bottom at the shingles.  It wasn’t until the second repair that we found the skylight lenses to be cracked.  While we know that this is unfortunate, the skylights are older and the entire valley incurred severe weather during that period of time and the skylight lenses could have cracked due to the storms.  We have no control over the weather or when such an occurrence might happen.
We have recommended that Mr. [redacted] replace the lenses on both skylights to prevent any further leaks.  Cost to do so would be $250 each.  If Mr. [redacted] would like G.R. [redacted] Enterprises to proceed with the replacement of the 2 skylights and after work is completed we will either credit him the $214.00 (if payment has been received by our company) or we will void this invoice #[redacted] for the amount of $214.00.
Sincerely,
[redacted] President

Review: On or about May 15, 2014 our rear and patio roof was replaced by GR [redacted] Co Roofing. On his inspection prior to his estimate he told us that the two patio skylights were in fine shape and not in need of replacement. This would save us substantial money. We accepted his price and work was started. On the first rainstorm after the work was completed both skylights leaked badly. This was reported to Mr. [redacted] and he sent a workman out to repair them. There was no report back from Mr. [redacted] and no bill was received. On the next rainstorm the skylights again leaked. This was reported to Mr. [redacted] and the process was repeated. After this repair the workman reported that the skylights were cracked. This came as news to us as this had never been mentioned before the roof replacement or at the first repair.Even though my visual inspection of the domes does not indicate any cracks I can only conclude that if they exist they would have been caused by the [redacted] workmen since Mr. [redacted] did not report them after his personal inspection and pricing of the job.On 9/22/14 we received a bill from Mr. [redacted] for $214.00 for resealing the skylights. He points out the domes are cracked and this is not covered by the warrantee. We have never received a warrantee even though I have requested it verbally, twice. In consideration of the above We are refusing to pay the $214.00 Invoice #[redacted] from G. R. [redacted] Enterprises, Inc.Your help in resolving this matter would be appreciated.Desired Settlement: Request G.R. [redacted] Enterprises to cancel their Invoice #[redacted] in the amount of $214.00.

We have used G.R. Taylor Enterprises to repair problem areas of our church roof. They are pleasant to deal with and do good work. They are honest with very competitive prices.

The actual work crew sent to repair my roof was very kind. They did however let my pet out of a gated backyard and I only got him back by the kindness of a stranger. Very poor customer service beginning with the first phone call to schedule a bid- they were angry I was not home at that moment (I had no idea they were on the way to inspect the property) and were rude about being put off until I was home. After the work began, there was no communication about length of time- took twice as long as scheduled for. When work was completed there again was no communication about it- I had to call and inquire(piles of garbage were left behind) and also inform them my dog had been let out which was never even acknowledged.

Work was unsatisfactory, took at least 4 return visits to correct. Would not recommend.
