To Whom It May Concern, On 5/14/G.R [redacted] Enterprises completed a re-roof for Mr [redacted] at the property of [redacted] *** On 8/19/Mr [redacted] called our office reporting a leak at his skylights We sent a tech out to Mr [redacted] property on 8/22/and re-sealed around the skylights which we consider a warranty item and therefore was no charge to Mr [redacted] On 9/9/Mr [redacted] called our office reporting more leaks at the skylights We sent our tech to Mr [redacted] property on 9/19/ Our tech reported that the skylights now have a crack in the plastic dome and he did seal those cracks We do not warranty the plastic lenses on the skylights and therefore we did charge in the amount of $($plus tax) Mr [redacted] states in his complaint that at the time of inspection, prior to the estimate, he was told that the skylights were in “fine shape and not in need of replacement.” This is correct, at the time of that initial inspection in May 2014, the skylights were found to be free of cracksWhen we went back in August for the first reported leak, we did not find any cracked lenses at that time either, but instead concluded that the skylights only needed to be sealed around the bottom at the shingles It wasn’t until the second repair that we found the skylight lenses to be cracked While we know that this is unfortunate, the skylights are older and the entire valley incurred severe weather during that period of time and the skylight lenses could have cracked due to the storms We have no control over the weather or when such an occurrence might happen We have recommended that Mr [redacted] replace the lenses on both skylights to prevent any further leaks Cost to do so would be $each If Mr [redacted] would like G.R [redacted] Enterprises to proceed with the replacement of the skylights and after work is completed we will either credit him the $(if payment has been received by our company) or we will void this invoice # [redacted] for the amount of $ Sincerely, [redacted] President
