Monday, July 27th, 2015I, [redacted],    was contracted by [redacted] in late October for a stamped concrete patio and some additional work. As the project progressed, Mr. [redacted] was involved in every step of the way. When the project was complete, Mr. [redacted] was happy...

and satisfied with the outcome. There were a couple voids in the sides, which I did agree to come back and fix in the spring. At which point, no white lines were mentioned. At this point all parties were satisfied. I then contacted Mr. [redacted] in the beginning of April to tell him I’d be there at the end of the month to take care of the voids in the sides. It was during that phone conversation in April 2015 that Mr.[redacted] mentioned the white lines. I then went to Mr. [redacted]’s home a few days later, and at that point I did see the white lines. There upon I told him I had to figure out where the white lines came from because I myself have never seen this before. I talked to several big masonry companies, masonry supply shops and prior bosses I've worked with. Ultimately the white lines are called efflorescence. Efflorescence is a rare occasion, that happens in stamped concrete, which is caused by moisture in the air.  I recieved information from contractor supply to show Mr. [redacted] what the problem was with his patio.  He did not want to listen and his entire demeanor changed.  He blamed me, suggesting it was my craftmanship.  In conclusion, his patio needs to be sealed every year to bring back the color which is not covered by the contractor.  I am resposible for fixing the little voids on the sides which I will be happy to do.  As far as the $1500 compensation he is asking for the price of the stamped concrete is a lie.  I told him the only difference in the price would be the cost of material (color, sealer, and the blade) which is only $600.  Please contact me at [redacted]or [redacted] for further information on this matter.

I hired Mr. [redacted], Grace Construction, after seeing paving work he did for a family member.   For this reason I tried working with him on resolving this. During the construction period Mr. [redacted] took a picture of the stamped patio and posted it to his business [redacted] page.  The picture showed the stamped patio the way it looked upon completion.  The color was bright, vibrant and shiny.  Several days following the completion of the job we pointed out to him flaws in the finishing (rough edges, unfinished looking)  He was paid in full before we even pointed these flaws out to him.  He stated he would come back to fix the problems and we took his word for it that he would follow through.  A short time later I noticed the luster of the patio had faded and white lines appeared surrounding the stress cuts in the patio.  I immediately contacted Mr. [redacted] via phone and was told that the weather was not condusive to fixing it.  He would return in the spring to handle all problems (rough edges, unfinished looking areas and color/white lines in the patio)   I was disappointed and a bit confused as to why he didn't stop by the site to look at the discoloration in person.  I later found out that he had left for [redacted], ** for several weeks and no longer in the area.  So when I made the call to him he wasn't in the area.  I have a cell record of the call placed to him.  In April, he contacted me by phone explaining that we was very busy, but would take care of the situation in a couple of weeks.  After a couple of weeks he did stop by.  At this time he stated he had no explanation as to why the patio faded and had white lines.  He would have to investigate and ask for advice on how to fix the problem.  He later returned and asked for a few more weeks stating that he was waiting on some money to come in before he could afford to fix the problem with my patio.  I agreed to wait until he had the funds he needed.  Several weeks later he came back out to the property with his driver and he washed down the patio saying he would be back the next day to finish.  After repeated calls to him the next day he answered the phone about 4 pm and told me he wouldn't be able to make it.  The next call from him he stated that he found out from another source that the winter weather caused the discoloration and white lines.  He came back to my house with his driver late on a Friday afternoon and said he was not responsible for the white lines and the discoloration.  It was the winter weather.  I reminded him that I had called about this a couple of weeks after the job was completed back in the fall.    At that time he called me a liar and said I had not contacted him that early on.  This concluded my face to face business with him and asked that he leave my property.  I did not appreciate being called a liar and realized that he was not going to take responsibility for this issue.  I have no knowledge of cement or what he craftsmanship is.  I had to rely on his word.  I would never agree to have the stamped colored concrete done if there was the remotest chance that I would have to continuously have it resurfaced and resealed.  It cost me $1500 to have the patio stamped and colored.  I never argued about price.  All I ever told him when hiring him was I wanted a good job.  While working at my property they worked very hard, but it didn't come out.  That's not my fault.  I just want what I was promised and paid for.  I would have stuck to plain concrete and saved the $1500.   I am appealing to the Revdex.com to register a complaint for non compliance to remedy the situation.  I am also looking to have a stone wall put in my yard and have had several masonry contractors give estimates.  I have asked these masonry professionals what explanation they could give me as to why my stamped concrete patio faded and developed white lines.   I was told that the white lines were caused because it wasn't properly cleaned and it faded because it was still damp when the sealant was applied.  It wasn't given the necessary drying time.  Mr. [redacted] can find a company suitable to me and pay to have the job finished as it should be.  At this point I am not interested in money from Mr. [redacted] I just want the job completed that I paid him for but by a company other than his.  As mentioned in the first couple of sentences of this response Mr. [redacted] had a picture of the patio before the problem with the fading and lines existed on his company [redacted] page.  I made a comment regarding the situation and that the picture was not a true representation of the finished product.  He did not like the fact I made a comment and deleted my comment as well as the picture.   I was also blocked from making any further comments on his company's [redacted] page.  Therefore, I turned to the Revdex.com for help in resolving the issues.  Regards,
[redacted]

Review: [redacted] and Company installed a new roof at my residence 9/2012. I noticed that the roof shingles did not lay flat. There were also shingles curled, lifted up and rippled. I called [redacted] and he said "give is some time. They need to seal flat". July 2013 I contacted [redacted] and he said that he would drive by and look at it to see what possibly could be the problem (which he never did). July 11, 2013 he stated in an email "We will take every step to guaranty that you receive the issue free roof you paid for without incurring any further cost. You are covered whether it is our fault or the manufacturer's". After a few months I called again and he said to let the summer heat let them seal to lay flat". I waited a month and there was no change in the shingles laying flat.

At that point [redacted] stated that I should contact [redacted] because it should be a warranty issue. I tried to go through the process of Warranty through [redacted] but I could not complete it because [redacted] and Grace Construction has some of the information such as Lot #, amount used etc. [redacted] stated he would go back to the distributor to see if there was a problem with the Lot number of the OC product "hoping that OC can admit they had a problem with that run and replace the roof."

After 5 months of trying to get [redacted] to comply with his agreement he stopped communicating. This was January 2014. I continued to send multiple emails, and phone calls in attempt to get [redacted] to answer.

I hired a professional to give me his opinion of the installation. He said that the drip edge was not properly fastened to the roof line, and he agreed that the roof had bumps, ripples, dips, curls, irregularities, and had overlapping and under lapping of shingles and that the workmanship was fair.

July 2014 I sent a certified letter stating he had 10 days to answer to me and resolve the situation to my satisfaction. On the 10th day I received an email from [redacted] saying he wanted to correct the situation. He gave me information that he would contact OC and have them send a representative to look at the roof. After weeks of delay he said they don't have anyone in the area. [redacted] then told me he would be at my house to take off shingles to send to OC for the warranty process. The last contact I have from [redacted] is Oct 10, 2014 when he said he would be able to come to my house "we are working out of town but as soon as we get back we will get it done."

That is the last correspondence with [redacted] of Grace Construction. I sent another Certified letter Decemeber 7, 2014 and it was denied. [redacted] of Grace Construction guaranteed a product and installation of that product and he is not completing his business agreement. He has installed a product improperly. He continued to state it was a product warranty issue and I told him he needed to prove it by contacting OC and processing the warranty. He agreed and then disappeared.

I have documentation and copies of many, many emails and calls between Myself and [redacted] between July 2012 and December 2014. I have sent 2 Certified letters to Grace Construction in attempts to resolve this before involving the Revdex.com. If the Revdex.com cannot help resolve this then I will file with the District Court Judge [redacted]Desired Settlement: My roof has had curled up edges, ripples, lifted shingles from day one of installation by Grace Construction. I have tried to be patient. I have tried many ways to get him to correct this issue. I do not feel this is a warranty issue and after his delay tactics over the past 2 years I feel that his company has improperly installed my roof.

I expect Grace Construction to:

1- Provide by repair or replacement a new, flat roof with no lifted, bent, curled, rippled or improperly installed shingles on my entire roof.

2-If the roof materials are defective, as agreed, Grace Construction needs to get [redacted] to admit a defective product and ensure that my roof is repaired or re-installed a new roof. This is as discussed with [redacted] that he would process the warranty processing required by [redacted].

3- Grace Construction refund me for the entire cost of the roof I paid to them plus the difference in cost of product due to [redacted] delaying satisfaction of this issue for the past 2 years.

I expect [redacted] and Grace Construction to stand by their word as stated to me- "We will take every step to guaranty that you receive the issue free roof you paid for without incurring any further cost. You are covered whether it is our fault or the manufacturer's". And to fulfill his obligation and provide me with an issue free roof. My roof should be re-installed so that the roof deck is smooth and strong, with no bumps, no ripples, no dips,no curls, no irregularities with proper drip edge fastening at the roof line, excellent workmanship with shingles properly aligned with no overlapping, with no under lapping, and properly aligned.
