This is my review after renting from this landlord for a yearWhen I first inquired about this property was on October 2016, I contacted them and asked for a viewing of the placeThe day I went to view the property another woman was also there to viewThe place was not in the best conditionThe kitchen cabinets were old and looked disgustingThat was a big deal breaker, the lady who shows the apartment who's name is Brittney let us now that those kitchen cabinets would be replacedShe also mentioned other details about the place and said they would be fixed for the move in date
I overheard the other woman that was there viewing the place too telling her that she was interested and that she could give her the deposit money the following day, of course we had to pay for an application fee that was $for each adult, which she was asking for that day to give the application outThe lady gave her the money for the application and told her she would give her the deposit the following dayWhen I heard this I immediately thought that she was going to give the duplex/apt to the other lady so I decided to leaveShe followed me outside and told me that basically whoever gives the deposit first takes the placeI was kind of hesitant because she basically wanted to *** one of us with the application money, which she did end up doing
I told her I needed the place for the 1st of the following month which was November She insured me it would be ready by then and I would be able to moveI had the deposit money in hand, and since the move in date was weeks away, I said why notI gave her the $for the application since there was going to be adults & I gave her the deposit moneyShe then starting processing my applications, after a few days she said we were approved
A week before the move in date I receive a text message from her saying that the property was not ready and that it wouldn't be ready until the end of the month!! I was furious! How can they do that, but then again what can you expect from a person who makes other people believe they are getting the place too just for the application moneyHaving the little knowledge I had back then, I thought I couldn't back out anymorePlus I didn't want to lose those $from the applicationI really wish I would of thoughI drove by the property a few times just to see what they were fixingIt turns out there was people still living thereI don't know exactly why, because the day I went for the viewing the place was empty
The day finally comes, I go sign the lease and confirm everythingBasically we go over the lease and Brittney states a few things that are on the lease and told me what was fine and what was notThe lease says no nail holes on the walls, but she said they were fine as long as they were small ones(This all concludes to my final days) Everything seemed fineI hadn't yet to see the property after the supposed "Fixtures"When I went nothing that was said to be done was doneThey basically just painted the kitchen cabinets that were supposedly going to be replacedThe sink was all moldy and disgusting! The roof had cracks in itThe place leaked every time it rainedYou could see the stains on the walls from the waterTheir windows didn't openThe paint job was horribleI honestly hated it, but had to suck it up and live there for a whole year nowAll for believing these peopl
It took the landlord a whole month to send his handyman to fix the loose faucet in the kitchenThis handyman basically does everything that needs to be fixedHe installed a new door and didn't even know what he was doingHe put in on wrong, and took him a week to fixFrom what I am aware of they own several other propertiesAll old and overpricedI paid my rent on time every monthNever gave them an issueI let him know days in advance that I would be renewing my leaseI basically did everything correctly to not give this guy a hard time
Now coming to the actual day which I am now fighting for my security deposit, because he claims he made $in repairsThis is absurd since he only has one person doing the painting and fixings of the place, and he is in no way a professionalMy lease was up on the 30th of November at noonThat day I showed up at a.mand his handyman was already thereThe landlord is claiming I was a "hold over" when I was out by We spoke to the handyman and he basically admitted he didn't have to much work to the place because it was in good conditionWell that really didn't mean anything to MRDHe's now claiming he had to clean and do all these repairs
I just want to aware anyone who comes across their propertiesTake before and after pictures of everything because this man will take your money for his crappy filthy places that he knows are not getting fixed!!! He in no way appreciates good tenantsBut I guess that is where karma will come in for him
