Grady's Mobil, Inc. Reviews (1)

My mom and I brought our car to their "service station" on Saturday morning, as it was the only place we could get into for our car's transmission flush, and one of our tires was going flat. We probably would never have even gone in the first place if we could have gotten in somewhere else, as they had refused to give back my elderly grandfather's truck after doing service on it, and irreparably damaged personal property of someone we know.
So, we went on Saturday to have a transmission flush on our car and to have our rear brakes replaced. Before when we had gone, the front desk vulture, [redacted] was extremely rude and snapped at us several times. She was rude when we came in this time, too, but we decided to stay.
Not only is this place terrifying, but they are also scam artists. [redacted] came out, glaring, snapping at us that we would have to pay $212, after [redacted] a really good repairman who used to work there, quoted us $180. Then, [redacted] comes out and says, his nostrils flared, that we had to pay $224. ???? Then, my mom said, "No, [redacted] said $212." Then [redacted] quickly said "No, I didn't. No, I didn't". I actually overhead, and I can confirm that [redacted] did says $212. Suspicious much?
My mom then requested the quote be written down, and [redacted] tossed a piece of paper at my mom and said: "There, how does that work for ya?" She said this in a very hostile tone, because she knew that she was caught lying.
Then, after about twenty minutes of waiting after our car being brought back, two guys walked into the gas station and started complaining to her about how they heard the sound of scraping metal coming from their car's brakes....after [redacted] the extremely nasty repairman, "did work" on them. You can look it up on any site...a scraping sound of "metal on metal" as the man described it, is the sign of worn brake pads, which, supposedly, [redacted] had "fixed".
So, we were a bit nervous at this point, after overhearing how upset the customers were (we had overheard other people talking about hundreds of dollars of damage done to their car by the "repairmen"), and my mom very politely asked [redacted] what exactly was being done with our car, and stated that she had some concerns after overhearing the other customers. [redacted] then became angry and viciously snapped "YOU KNOW WHAT, IF YOU DON"T TRUST US, GET OUT, I DON"T WANT YOU COMING HERE ANYMORE!!" ????????
And, not to mention, she acted this way and started yelling....when our car was still in the back, all taken apart, and raised on the platform.
My mom, after that, said that she just simply wanted her car back, and [redacted] stormed out, slamming the door so we couldn't see what was happening in the garage.
Then, she come back, very overbearingly, and snapped, "You have to pay for the oil change we did. We already drained all your oil." So, obviously, we didn't have any choice, and we had to wait for "new" (probably not new) oil, to be poured into our car so that we could drive away from the place and never return.
So, we waited, and ended up having to pay a lot for an oil change that we didn't even want them to do, but had to have because they would have stranded us there with no oil in our car. They charged us $35 for an oil change we could have gotten at Valvoline for $19.99...and this did not include an air filter at all.
Also, the repairman, [redacted] is scary. Terrifying, more like it. He comes out looking like he's going to beat you up, and when my mom asked about his experience with replacing brakes, he glared and didn't reply. Extremely nasty.
When we were finally able to get out, we walked around to the garage, where [redacted] drove out the car, and got out.
My mom walked around to the car door and started asking him something, and, without saying anything, scowling, he slammed the garage door in our faces...literally...we were just standing there, left gawking.
This was a terrifying experience.
Also, [redacted], the repairman from a nightmare, told us that our brakes needed to be replaced, which would have been hundreds of dollars, and we went to another service place that we trust, and they told us no, that our brakes didn't need to be replaced and have over 40% life left on the rotors and pads.
The door was shut the entire time, and we couldn't see what he was doing with our car in the spooky, dark garage where he had taken it.
We suspect that he may have dangerously tampered with our brakes, as now the car jerks when we slow and accelerate, and Grady's seems to have a history of messing up people's brakes.
We will never return there.
